I think it is the 52/36? Dunno I didn't count before. But already at the biggest cassette yesterday I think easily 95% of the whole climb. wife said sudah done. No more next time.
Even 14 inch foldies and Bromptons potong me weh... Got one fella bigger fat tummy than me but still goes 3 times my speed. I haven't even hit 2/3 of the climb already see him coming back down already.  There's also one Rastafari fella, bloody hell so thin like skeleton, but still overtakes me and my wife and lost him after 2 corners. At some stretch even jogger is faster than us. Malu sial.... Started pedalling at 9.25am, reach the end point at 11.35am. for less than 15km.
*
other ppl 200-300w power, can pedal with higher gear ratio.
just think hill climb cycling like we are driving, if engine no power, sure we need lower gear for more torque. then if need to achieve same speed, we need to rev the engine to higher rpm. but to raise cadence higher you need to monitor heart rate.

that's why ppl train more and harder for more leg power instead of using high cadence.

for casual rider, just cycle at own pace and enjoy the scenery and jie jie mei mei. die die follow other ppl sure end up leg cramp.

So I was going 34x30 and still have to push bicycle... Should I mount a 11-32 cassette instead?
*

Question: any of you carry a 15mm wrench in your tool bag when out cycling? If yes, any recommendation for said 15mm wrench?

I've been bringing around a cone wrench but I doubt it's sturdy enough for either pedal or wheel axle nut. I have a pedal wrench at home but it's too big to carry along so looking for recommendation.

Actually, I also prefer to wear a pouch while cycling on roadbike as to compared putting everything in jersey pockets.

Something like this Evoc pouch.

tools and tube i let my bike carry for me. got saddle bag and a tool bottle.

but phone, cash, keys and wallet  - inside the waistpouch. these are important things that must be with person body at all times. cannot let go out of sight punya.
*
car key is the most annoying thing to carry along laugh.gif
wallet no need bring la.

QUOTE(Justin.Loong @ Jul 25 2022, 05:32 PM)
I have (had?) a small saddle bag that fits 1 tube, 1 Topeak Mini20 multi-tool, some puncture patches, small tube of tyre glue and safety pin (to remove small sharp objects embedded in the punctured tyre). But I find it sometimes troublesome when it gets dirty after riding through muddy or wet conditions. So put in jersey pockets. But then sooner or later, pockets start to droop down. lol..  biggrin.gif  tongue.gif  doh.gif  :lol2:
*
saddle bag i use this splash proof on my folding bike, easier to clean.
1 liter volume can fit everything inside.
not sure can fit road bike or not.

Unfortunately, now I've attached my rear tail light to the saddle rails like this picture.

So going to be hard to squeeze the saddle bag under the saddle like your suggestion.  sad.gif  bangwall.gif

But previously, I used Topeak saddle bag and Topeak rear light and works.  laugh.gif  mega_shok.gif  biggrin.gif  tongue.gif

haha…i know the feeling don't want to give up the rear tail light space because it's too nice laugh.gif
