No saying halau female leecher, in overall group riding can achieve higher average speed if your group have strong leader to lead most of the route. So cant compare if unless you have your own strong ride group too to compare. or else just follow your own pace only on different situations.

i no means about "road type" (uphill, downhill, flat, mountainor whatever). i means "road surface" only If zero elevation, indoor cycling track, highway roads and kampung roads (with cracked surface and uneven) as all of them are completely flat too. Which surface you like the most? Which surface can gain higher / slower average speed?

Hence zero elevation doesnt means u can push higher average speed all the way, unless you planned to call Grab halfway after exhausted completed then different story. I need reserve some energy to make sure i can reach home with my own efforts. Assumed your car running low of petrol but no petrol station around to refill, will you still step your pedal till 5k-8k rpm that time?

35km/h for nearly 2min but decided to let go to save energy to return home at least without relying on Grab.

And better not to push as i rided solo 120km distance but he rided group 55-60km only where we met at the spots. He have some much energy reserved. If you not ever ride to 100km+ before or santai ride (stop as you like type), you wont know the toughness of endurance which no focusing on average speed but instead of reach destination safely and complete the routes at least, it is simply like long Marathon rather than talking about short sprinting only. that why i even avoid my other cycling fren who just "ride and eat anywhere" type, ride bcos simply go there for breakfast only.

Extra gadgets on bike, aerodynamic affected all the ways, energy draining fast within distance 0-120km which before i leech behind the cycling group. no to mentioned, rain drizzling, wet road, uneven / cracked road surface thru kampung road within distance 0-120km, losing the momentum there to need more energy to pick up again. that why i hardly talk in paper or theories only. Mental strength is another issues if planned for solo. I will call Grab if it is unrepairable mechanical issues or beyond my capabilities, that why i brought multi bicycles tools included with chain repair even, included all the stuffs with the big saddle bag, quite a weight, I hardly find other cyclists carry big saddle bag.

I cycled with roadbike for 7-8 years. Still, i recommended you try long riding distance and gain the experiences. I have many cases to share from many fren that did long distance but still you wont get the actual feelings rather than simply typing here.  Action louder than words

Perhaps here u can start from long ride, 100km no really tough if used to endurance.

funny that when we were young.. any saddle seems ok mayb coz sit bone were more narrower easier to find support. was using spez saddles toupe and romin for many years.. recently changed to the short nose saddle and instantly love it.. now using the fizik argo vento r5

ya.. was grateful just to own a road bike when ur a kid.  no money to spend on anything else.. i remembered i saved for months just to buy a green wired cateye speedometer.. was using a saddle branded Velo.. apparently they are now the biggest oem saddle manufacturer in the world. Frame was scavenged and resprayed with Vitus decals inspired by Sean Kelly.. drilled holes for bottle cages, welded the RD hanger on the dropout.

Thanks for the video recommendation. I knew Quek rode to Penang but didn't know there was videos about it. As a Penangite, it's always nice to see outsiders enjoy their time here even though I've used the same routes for so many times. Watching it on video is really different than riding the route myself.

Relocating to another country so thinking of bring my bike with me.

My options are either :

1.buy a specific bike carrier bag like evoc big travel bag or the scicon traveling case

2. get bike shop to fit back into a normal bike box. For this I might have to ship the bike separately, do u know of any reliable shipping company?

Of course the ultimate option is to sell the bike, but i'll probably lose around 30% I assume, or just leave the bike in msia and get another one over there.

Would love to have your opinions especially those of you who have had experience traveling with a bike

I bought the bike out right, but this is my first bike and it cost me 12k, so yeah it's a little painful to let it go at >30% loss, but considering the hassle of getting it shipped, i still cant decide. Maybe i'll just leave it in malaysia for the time being.

i believe many years ago, pro kits were aplenty back then. prices were not too expensive.
limited choices other than pro kits. affordable local brands like monton only made custom team kits.
