QUOTE(andrewhtf @ Dec 2 2020, 01:16 PM) but funnily, when i put on the chest strap the HR already reading 110+, and when i start cycle saja already 130+. it's not even 2 minutes into cycling. i am worried that i might have heart issues. about not ride hard enough, probably yes, because most of my rides are taman rides anyway. but those rides got mix of climbs and flats mah... Different person has different range of heart rate. The common one are being used as normal but whats really normal is depending on how you feel during the workout. Im 42 years old this year and during my peak time i still could hit 205 bpm and usually my average ride is around 170 bpm. I know its very high compared to the other guys but to me it doesnt mean much. As long as the body is used to that then ill take it and just make sure that you always listen to your body. Dont la if your max is 170 bpm sekali you want to hentam 200 bpm, gerenti masuk ambulance

QUOTE(andrewhtf @ Dec 2 2020, 03:37 PM) thanks, perhaps one day i should go do a treadmill stress test to really find out what is my proper HR even at rest oso i get about 100+, which is high considering just 2 years back my rest is about 90. and upon exertion, i am going at 180+ to low 192 and my head is dizzy already. Do you smoke? over weight? those are amongst the reasons of high heart rate apart from genetic, etc

I thought the demographic preference of amateur cyclists had changed a lot compared prior to 2 decades before. During the early days of my cycling , its always about what is Marco Pantani is wearing and riding or even Lance Armstrong. You wanna get the same kit and bicycle and try to look as close as possible to those pro cyclists while nowadays, amateur cyclists tend to be more individual from my opinion. At least around my cycling circle (if i still have any), nobody wanna look like Pogacar, Vingegaard or Geraint Thomas. They just ride whatever they feel like and they dress just how they want it. Probably pro cycling is not exciting as it was before

QUOTE(ntw @ Oct 17 2022, 12:08 AM) question: any route in KL area that are a short loop and less traffic for beginner? Try bukit tunku or else join the weekly DBKL car free day where the roads will be closed for cyclists and runners This post has been edited by rads78: Oct 17 2022, 01:04 AM

QUOTE(RiriRuruRara @ Feb 19 2023, 01:31 PM) Yes my rear seat can fold down. What I did was fold down real seat and insert the bike from the boot. It's quite narrow so it was really hard work trying to insert the heavy bike. Good excuse to treat yourself with a lighter bike. Joking aside, usually i just cycle straight from home. Cant be bothered to put bicycle into the car

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Mar 5 2024, 01:45 PM) ayam using revant. ok je. lagi tahan dari ori oakley but if mau nitpicking la, the view ada very very sikit distortion. not as perfect zero distortion like ori oakley. i'd say negligible oso the fit ada sikit gap dgn the frame. maybe coz the lens thinner a bit than ori but definitely no rattling. fit ngam n snug n secure Ngko beli Oakley for what? To play with cat? Bawak berkebun?

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ Nov 26 2024, 08:28 PM) guys do you use power meter? how do you calculate FTP ? or is it not important? 1) yes, when i was cycling before. Now already retired 2) there are several methods to calculate FTP and you may even use those bicycles in the gym that comes with power meter by default except that the position is not optimal for you. Thats the cheapest anyway. I did mine using zwift. How useful it is? Its useful for me to calculate, plan and to avoid bonking during weekend rides. If my FTP is 200w, pushing 240w on average in a peloton wont last me very long

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ Nov 27 2024, 02:50 PM) why Power? is it not doable with just HR ? I believe Strava does an estimate of power based on your HR whenever power meter is absent. As the name suggests, its an estimate and far away from being accurate. HR is good for zoning planning which is being used for training. https://www.trainingpeaks.com/blog/power-training-levels/Both HR and PM are great for training if you are serious about cycling where you could use those numbers to plan your training, rest and race or else, just another set of numbers to look and brag about.
