I've been just once, peak at 12%with 6%average which I swear there will be no more next time. Lol
I think I walked & pushed bike on most of the ascent.
I was humming to the tune of, "Hit the road Jack and don't you come back
No more, no more, no more, no more".

just need to pace yourself at the less steep bits so you dont die when it hits 11-13% midway until the end lol, @timmitizer made a segment consisting of 5 repeats of mayor lol.

yeah, used to do abit of over/under and ladder training, maintain watts but vary between 60 to 120rpm for a few minutes each to get used to it. got friend who cant grind, go up mayor tunku dismount halfway once it reaches 11% section lol.
*
alot of nasi lemak fatties on bikes. quite annoying. mayor is a no go on weekends.

on a side note, slightly before the gate area you can turn right to an uphill dead end. anyone tried? looks painful.

tried, that was part of the 5x repeat segment lol. was told that the abandoned house at the end of that road was Tun Hussain or Tun Ismail's house. its more of the same, 9-11% for abit before flattening out at the end. that particular abandoned house has a nice view of the other side, kiara bangsar PJ side i think, but used to ride tunku at night so didnt see much. night time less people lol. want less crowds do gasing or kl tower climb also

i'm a resident climber of somewhere nice and quiet. hehe. can't share too much else it will be packed. but i can get 7 minutes climb.

bukit tunku at night kind of scary.

gasing i feel it's dangerous at night.

Kl tower is too easy.

No shame in that. I was unfit few months back. I stopped and cycled a bit. Stop and cycled a bit all the way up the hill. No shame in it. What is shameful is if you can't get up the hill after months.

just train hard, repetition and overload, sure get stronger. get weight down can climb more easily too. I'm hovering around the 45-50mL/kg/min Vo2 range (derived from garmin calculation using power meter), can do most rides and climbs, but usually get dropped on longer rides after 70k lol

Chill la
Not the end of the world
Me also getting back into shape
Hate the lactic tang in the thighs at the start of training, but last ride was ended prematurely by a slow puncture of the tubeless tyre.
Me thinks will go back to clinchers and the Hadrons since not going for Cameron loops anytime soon. Just the odd GS climb some time soon.

Have you tried heavier but more puncture resistance tires? So far I have been v v v lucky with gatorskin. But haven't been outside city yet. So can grab. Haven't been to gs also.

You train around city too?

I’m lucky in that I’m relatively light and I tend to pick my way through the smoother tarmac and I’m low mileage.
So hardly puncture otr, mainly preventative tube replacement at home when I notice low tyre pressures.
In this recent slow puncture I think it is neglect from not having ride for so long.
As aforementioned, I run race tyres and avoid the heavier endurance tyres.

Hi all the sifus, currently I'm riding alloy bike, thinking to change carbon bike, is it carbon bike will totally feel the difference? Or alloy bike with carbon wheelset better?

I reliazed when gradient 2-3% I'm getting slower and other carbon bikes potong me easily, maybe my legs not strong enough tongue.gif
