probably cycling around 3/4 pipu only.
*
but be mentally prepared dulu ya, coastal road is a super duper boring route.

except the traffic volume, u basically see the same scene all the way

plus make sure to rehydrate alot along the way, sg besar - sabak bernam route is super hot + windy.

This morning woke up late, so plan to rainbow bridge got cancelled, decided to ride nearer home.

Remember I asked about installing stand so I can have the bike standing for some pics? After agonising myself drawing and thinking of designs to make a stand (with some inspiration from topeak flashstand) using 3d printing it, then I wondered why would I want go the hard route? Some of you use helmet, some bottle to balance it on the pedal, and when I saw mini tripods in some advertisement, it hit me.

So here it is, rm6.00 mini tripod from ninjaz. Took abit of fiddling to get it properly balanced but hey it worked!!

flat pedal on a road bike. why why why?
*
Because I don't want to wear cleat shoes. I cycle for sightsee jalan2 makan2. Walk relatively alot. So if wear cleats, I'll destroy that piece of plastics in no time. Waste money only. So wear sport shoe, flat pedal. Easy to get off and walk around.

Niamah I just did 32km on flat road also my palm pain like fuark, with average less than 20. You avg 25 with elevations also can maintain 80+. I still got lots of practise to go.

maybe you're holding the handle bar too tightly? try to relax your hands.
*
Nope not holding tight at all, most of the time I just lay and rest it down. And usually the location where the palm contact the bar is almost all the time the base of palm. U know that part where it will give rise to carpal tunnel syndrome?

user posted image

Main suspect maybe I am too forward and upper body weight pressing down. The solution is to do a bike fit and make some adjustment if any, then strengthen my core muscle and make sure my back supports the weight more

But currently in the mean time before I go do bike fit I wan to find out what other methods that I might can do to alleviate this. Does thicker palm pad help? Maybe I'll consider laying down a layer of foam and gel at the hood holding position, ugly as it may be.

Yes. And my wrist is not angled that way now. It is already adjusted for natural wrist angle, holding the hood.

Yup, after 20-30mins ride.

You can use touring pedals which are flat on 1 side and has SPD mechanism on the other.

And use touring shoes like this (with the cleats).

Worse comes to worse, maybe... you could consider an adjustable stem.  sweat.gif

that's what is done now but somehow riding on road with heavy traffic i just had to get my fingers ready at the brake levers so it became like hands on hoods 80% of the time

First time riding on a Wednesday night ride. I tagged along one of many local groups that was riding around setia alam tonight, as i bumped into them at one of the stop points so I was thinking why not try riding group for once?

In the end I still ride alone at the back trying to catch up lol. They're riding at a good pace, only me slow like tortoise. Luckily they do stop a few times to regroup so it is also a chance for me catch along their ride.

Just ordered magene.

good thing is those elastics are replaceable and if not mistaken, garmin & magene punya similar contact width, so they're interchangeable
