Can anyone, recommend a good free app for burning cds/dvds. Since ahead won't be releasing a vista update for nero 6 which came with my dvd drive maybe a good solution is to get another cheap drive that comes with the software? Please advice.

Hehe thanks for that - the problem with nero 7 is that it costs more than what a new dvd writer would - usd 79.99 - the fact that i've got an oem nero 6 does not reduce the cost by that much. I'll try out the other suggestions though smile.gif

to be exact, Nero Burning ROM 7.8.x.x and above works with full compatibility with Vista. The latest 7.9.x.x is preferred. Earlier Nero 7 will not work fully with Vista, some won't even install.

If you are thinking about free CD/DVD recording program, you can try simpler/smaller programs like burnatonce. I'd say a very simple and limited functionality like recording/copying/imaging> No DVD video authoring, encoding etc. though.

Try Nero 7 Premium Reloaded that works perfectly with my rig. No compatibility issues and no lag and no need tweaks or patches.

It used to be pirated OS and original software or pirated OS and software. Guess times are changing.
