Many products these days comes with lighting or RGB. You can turn it off. I recommend something that runs even cooler if you plan to go 3950X for long period.

Maybe

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X - 3149
Corsair H115i Platinum - 729
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro - 1289
Corsair MP510 960GB (A lot more endurance. 1700TBW! ) - 529
Super Flower Leadex III Gold 750W - 519
Fractal Design Meshify C case - 435

Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) runs cooler when it is more or having better heatsink. That recommended X570 has 12+2 VRM.

Can I safely say that VRM cooling becomes important when the CPU TDP increases?

E.g., if I get a Ryzen 3600, B450 AsRock Steel Legend (low tier cooling) would actually be advisable? (in terms of budget) + no overclocking.

Not only TDP. Core increase and overclock too. AMD Ryzen maxes out the CPU when it has better cooling on the CPU as well.

Steel Legends isn't good when it comes to VRM. Pro 4 is better. MSI B450 Tomahawk Max has the best VRM cooling for B450.

"AMD Ryzen maxes out the CPU when it has better cooling on the CPU as well" - that's only for the X (e.g., 3600X) versions, right?

I'm 50/50 on MSI because of it's bios.

Works for non X too.

Thanks a lot, TristanX

Yeah, I actually got misled by the TDPs thinking the X denoted significant better boosts. sweat.gif

Tumpang tanya tongue.gif if let's say these components have rgb: casing fan, motherboard, ram.

Is there a way to toggle on and off? Gotta turn off the lights when sleeping but the pc has to stay running? hmm.gif

Yes, you can set it to off. I don't know about other brands but Asus, Gigabyte and Corsair allows you to turn it off on the hardware too.

You mean you can turn it off physically at the components itself (casing fan, ram, mobo) ?

I'm looking to see if it can be turned off at the software side, maybe even set the timing of when the lights turn on and off tongue.gif

For motherboard, the settings is in the BIOS. Corsair uses software to turn the hardware off.

check your mobo spec/detail page, im using asrock mobo with their polychrome sync app (software not bios) , u will then nid a argb/rgb hub(berry cheap, can buy from shopee, corsair kinda rip off imo) to connect all those "rgb" cables and cucuk into your mobo argb/rgb header

becareful with the BIOS though, be sure to update to the latest BIOS (version F11). sometimes the BIOS doesn't store your settings correctly and messing up somewhere else causing you to fail your boot, and in my case i need to fully shut down my PC and enter BIOS, instead of restarting my PC then enter BIOS, so that it can store and configure based on my settings correctly. but don't worry, the good thing from X570 Master is that you can spam the reset CMOS button when your PC reboots.

however and when it really got messed up serious after you configured a lot of settings but it didn't manage to store correctly it will roll back to the oldest BIOS version F4. happened to me once.
