I need advice from you guys about using cooling fan for both BTU + router (TP-link AC1200)

My suggested pick: https://shopee.com.my/product/120927548/194...4408?smtt=0.0.9
(3x2 option)

I was wondering:
1. Is it okay to run cooling fan for 24/7?
2. Logic eh all 6 fans operated from a single USB cable?

My router + BTU currently sitting inside TV cabinet and enclosed with glass panel.

that all ok to run cooling fan 24/7 in a cabinet, no worries. and cabinet ventilation also important too. Not a problem all fan's on a single USB cable, remember don't plugged on the router USB port, can kill the router after sometimes. I DIY 12V DC cooling fan for the router. if you didn't cares about warranty stuff, can just modified using cpu thermal pad on the router chipset or small heatsink. Remember those equipment's damn costly, void of warranty can cost you alots $$

Yes it is ok to run fans 24/7, just as it is ok to run your equipment 24/7. Your equipment was designed to run just fine without cooling, although a cooler environment might make them live longer.

Cooling the equipment directly in an enclosure will have little benefit though. You are just blowing the enclosure's not so cool air back onto them. You are better off installing an extractor fan for your little enclosure. Just 1 fan will do.

Mine is hanging-type cabinet.
So there is only 2 cable through holes above and below the enclosure.
Maybe I can opted a 80mm fan for exhaust for hole below.
Still, do I need extra fan blow directly below the router?

Hot air rises up. Better exhaust above.

No I don't think you need a fan blowing at the router.

I agree with niakulah. You don't need a fan to be blowing at the equipment actually, just a ventilation fan for exhaust (top) is sufficient. The only downside is dust entering the cabinet due to negative air pressure.

My Wi-Fi router has always been on top of my cabinet, no fans. It's been there for 4 years now. I just clean it from time to time due to dust.

Does it really need a cooling fan for modem or router if you want them to perform well ???

Found this thread since my friend told me to put usb fan. I don't think it is necessary.
