I finally read about the HDMI 2.1 bug for this year's AV Amplifier from Denon, Marantz and Yamaha. Apparently they all use the HDMI 2.1 chipset from Panasonic Solutions. 4K/60 is fine. Only 4K/120 is having this issue. I'm so glad I didn't trade in my RX-V685 yet! I was recently on an upgrade spree, having changed my phone and TV. Next up was supposed to be the AV amplifier. Thank god I didn't proceed. I was this close to doing it! |

I postponed all my TV and Amp (in planning) upgrade to next 2 years until they fix the HDMI issue XD Those manufacturer really need to disclose their HDMI socket capabilities next time ... else we are like beta user once purchased... I shouldn't pull my trigger on my soundbar also XD |

I pulled trigger on x1600h becos they package in 1 set polk audio s10e worth 1.5k retail in msia, then free another polk assist also. I am looking for surround speaker so i just bought it seems bargain to me and i only need earc, i dont connect my stuff to my amp. Itโs easier to control from My C9. Sure, but as a feature that they advertised, it's serious enough for me. The manufacturers also acknowledged the issue, so we know it's at least being worked on. The "good news" it's not related to design at least. Just a manufacturing defect that hopefully wil be fixed in the next revision. |
