Looks like the X axis doesn't return to the center.

I have tried to shake my controller, use handheld blower (the one you squeeze the air from that balloon like thing) around the Left joystick, still facing the same issue it seems.
Im not very keen on repairing it myself though. What can I do?

1 - buy a new one
2 - open it up and try cleaning the potentiometer Y axis area with rubbing alcohol
3 - send it to a game store to replace the potentiometer, one of my local game store in Kch here can do it for RM30 only, looks like you can get those replacement easily online, and replace them DIY if you have the solder skill

have you ever tried pulling the stick up, then push it back down, then give it a blow? my older gen xbox controller has this issue, but once i do this it will be alright for awhile, or maybe the session im playing.

Definitely don’t wanna buy a new one. I guess I need to send it to repair shop and see. Now I gotta look for one.

If you can't blow dirt out or get it out using rubbing alcohol, then its most likely some internal mechanical issue. The solution is probably to replace the potentiometer.

Yep most places will just ask you to get a new joypad. However, the parts themselves are dirt cheap and can be replaced with a bit of soldering skill but if you're not willing to do it yourself then you have to pay.

I'm not willing that's why i spent my time during the MCO trying to fix it myself lol. I've only done simple repairs like button replacement, faceplate swapping and some simple potentiometer adjustments though. no soldering.

Am I mis-remembering : I thought turning on Xbox SX would make the TV auto-switch the input to the Xbox?

Mine doesn't do that now; so have to press the Xbox button to manually switch to it. CEC on both Xbox n TV r turned on.

Oh, mine also. I always prefer my TV to auto-switch input source to my XSX when I pressed the controller.

Lately, I think after the UI changes, it started not to do that.

Pretty sure it used to work. Tried unplugging power n HDMI cables, waiting for a few minutes and then plugging back; still doesn't work.

MS should make this feature optional in the system. ☹️

It was then during the PS2 era that we started seeing NTSC/J Asia versions of games. Though most people would still only buy pirated games during the PS2 era, it was important in building the customer base in Malaysia. Since then, all major Playstation consoles were sold and supported in Malaysia. And people do buy them even without pirated content.

I agree with this.

PS3, PS4, and PS5 has proven to be successful for Sony Malaysia... and PS3 successfully staved off piracy for many many years.

And piracy is no longer an excuse for Microsoft, especially since the Xbox One NEVER had piracy.

On the other hand... in discussion with most of my gamer friends, nobody really cares about Xbox. Even when Xbox 360 piracy was rampant, practically everyone I know (including myself at the time) stuck with PS3 for some unknown reason.

Until today the Xbox still has a reputation as being a 'first person shooter[I]' machine, which is a turn off for those who don't play such games, even if such a reputation is no longer valid today.

Everyone I know is hard up for a PS5... but no one is willing to pay for a Series S or Series X console.

In the end I decided to sell off the controller to get a new one. Of course I have mentioned directly and openly that there’s drifting issue with analog. If they feel like they want to repair or repair on their own that’s their own issue already, I myself will not repair it. Haha!

The OG Xbox may have been labeled as the shooter console, but it was actually not true for the Xbox 360. Microsoft tried so hard to get Japanese developers onboard. The 360 actually had MORE exclusive JRPGs initially, but the majority of Japanese players still didn't want to touch an Xbox. They would rather buy a PS3, for the same tired excuse that Xbox is a western console. When Xbox 360 was more or less the otaku console, due to the large number of Shmups and fighting games.

The Japanese just don't like Xbox, full stop. Remember when they said the OG Xbox was too big? Microsoft purposely went with a Japanese design firm to find a smaller design, just to appeal to Japanese preferences. They instead went with the PS3, which was bigger than the launch 360.

Then when the time came for Xbox One, Microsoft already stopped trying to bring in Japanese developers onboard. But I felt this was a fatal move. We lost it all; no Guilty Gear, King of Fighters or Street Fighter V. We even stopped getting Blazlue. And let's not talk about any Japanese RPGs not named Final Fantasy.

We are slowly but surely getting back the support thankfully. Street Fighter 6 will be on Series X|S, Atlus is finally bringing in their games like Persona 5, even Arcsys is bringing back Guilty Gear.

Anyway. Microsoft still need to improve their brand image, starting with broader support and availability. If any Microsoft employee reads these posts, trust me, we are definitely interested in having official local support. And if that support is there, more people will be interested in the Xbox brand.

I went for PS3 over Xbox 360 cos I felt it was more value for money since it was also Blu-ray player, and a standalone player cost as much or even more than a PS3 at the time. Plus I REALLY wanted to play Metal Gear Solid 4, and finances limited me to choosing only one platform to support.

Also, the 'shooter console' image still applies even to the Series X. Many of my friends still consider I wasted my money getting a Series X, despite the fact that it is home to so many games from various genres.

My argument is that now both Xbox and PS have the same number of first person shooters anyway, but the stigma remains.

Sony exclusives really do have a strong pull factor, I'm not going to lie. For PS1, it was Tekken 3 + Metal Gear Solid. For PS2, it was Metal Gear Solid 2. For PS3, it was surprisingly not Metal Gear Solid 4 for me, but Uncharted. And for PS4, it was God of War. Still waiting on that damn PS5.

I did also initially use PS3 as a Bluray player, but eventually got a standalone Bluray player for free when I got a new TV.

Well, I guess not much can be done when in 2022, people still think Xbox is the shooter console. Everyone is free to their own opinion. That just means they'll be missing out on some great games, all because of brand bias.
