Hi Guys, i'm new to this, i would like to know if i already subscribe to Xbox Live Gold using Turkey gift code, and i would like to upgrade my account to Game Pass Ultimate, can i use the $1 promo? i need to change my region back to US? Does it work this way? Or i need to buy another gift code for Ultimate 1 month to upgrade my subscription to GPU? hope you guys can help out on this, thank you very much.

Thank you for your reply, my current stacking method is using Turkey gift card, so I have to change my region to Turkey, I actually only will get my Series X tomorrow, but I start doing the stacking on my laptop first, not sure will it be different when I do it in console.

Can I do the promo if I change my region to US when I got my console and do it in console? Will it be different? Or will I stuck to Turkey region?

I helped a friend in the same situation as yours, had to contact Xbox support to get it done. Some backstory: my friend's acc was mistakenly created in Turkey region, then topup 3 years of XLG bought from Turkey region as well. I wanted to change his Xbox region to Brazil (that's what I use for my personal acc) but mistakenly chose Australia instead  Since my friend has no CC info in Australia, I bought him the cheapest AU gift card possible to use the $1 method. I still faced an error so I had to turn to Xbox support to get everything converted.

Talking to various Xbox customer rep, some will die die want me to specify backup payment info, some are so straight forward they immediately convert your acc manually on their end. Finally a rep from UAE helped me by using the $1 method but faced an unknown issue that they didnt specify. They ended up using the 2nd method below to convert my friend's account to GPU and surprisingly the cost is borne by them. I checked because the account balance only reduced by $1, and there is not enough balance to purchase the 1 month GPU sub to begin with.

From my experience doing this, there are 2 ways of converting Xbox Live Gold to GPU sub:

1) Use the $1 promo. This one is a bit leceh as you not only need to topup your acc with some credit, you also need a backup payment information that is accepted in the region your account was registered in. You will probably have to talk to Xbox customer service to get it converted, and depends on how lucky you are to get everything done.

2) Buy 1 month of GPU sub gift card. This will automatically convert your 3 years worth of XLG into GPU sub.

My suggestion for anyone who wants to do the 3 years of XLG to GPU sub trick is to load up on XLG, then just buy 1 month GPU sub card and redeem it which will convert those 3 years into GPU. Correct me if I'm wrong but this method ensure that you do not have to specify backup payment info for the recurring billing BS.

One last thing, if you're dealing with Xbox customer rep its best to use VPN and jump around regions to talk to different people. For example, I only had to talk to Brazil support once for my own personal acc. But when helping my friend, had to talk to multiple people to get anything done. A person from UAE got it done without any issue. All depends on your luck.

Asked Bank side - say there is no block or issue from their side, and system doesn't even capture that i'm trying to use the card (but i have received OTP, how come ?)
