Not trying to be a buzzkill but I suggest that you guys dont get Series S. Take AC Valhalla for example, the game runs up to 1440p at 30 FPS. From SkillUp review IIRC

1440p is still ok, coz Series S has the hardware to upscale to 4K. But 30fps...? dang.

It's so damn weird why Series S can't do 60fps. Just use dynamic resolution, what's the issue?

Assassin creed valhalla is a very taxing game. Even rtx3090 also cannot run 4k 60fps. 60fps is not easy la for series S, their gpu is so limited. Console better to fix the framerate, if fluctuate is more frustrating la. If put 60 but cannot sustain, then reso drop until very bad if dynamic also susah lol. So 1440p 30fps might be the compromised choice. But from techpowerup analysis, this game graphics is indeed next gen, altho no raytracing but looks superb the details all. Thinking of buying to play lol.

I hope this doesn't become the norm going forward. The entire idea behind Series S is that whatever Series X can do, it can do too. Except it will just be limited to 1440p only, and it won't have an optical drive. If we can't even have performance parity, Microsoft just torpedoed the Series S, and pretty much force everyone to get Series X instead.

Not to say we can't tell the framerate, since I can feel the difference between a 30 fps game and 60 fps game in console games. Personally I prefer a locked framerate versus unlocked framerate, since the game will feel better to control.

Btw I've been eyeing the Samsung Q80T for next year, since it's fully HDMI 2.1 compliant. The 55" model is relatively affordable, but jumping to 65" immediately adds almost RM4000 to the figure! Assuming my Series X can arrive by then, it would be perfect timing for me to test out 120fps gaming on console.

I don't know about that particular TV or soundbar, but I used to have eArc related issue back then. My current TV is a Samsung KS7000. It was at one point one of the recommended TVs for Xbox One X/PS4 Pro. I run my Bluray player, Astro box, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro through a Yamaha RX-V683 AV receiver. At that time I didn't really care about eArc, since I prefer having the device do the decoding instead of the TV. One day I was curious about enabling eArc, because if I use the TV's Netflix or Youtube app, I need to use the TV speakers instead.

I've checked and double checked which HDMI port needs to be used for eArc. I made sure the TV speakers are not set to Bluetooth or TV. Nothing worked. I could never get eArc to work.

Earlier this year, I traded in that RX-V683 with a RX-V685. It's technically a refresh of the same series, just updated with 5 x HDCP 2.2 ports instead of 3 x HDCP 2.2 on the RX-V683. Without even needing to configure anything, eArc worked flawlessly. The TV is still the same; only the AV amplifier was changed. I guess despite having common standards in place, sometimes things just don't work as it's supposed to.

Hdmi 2.0b also support eARC.

Yeah you're right. 2016 model. It must be ARC then. Still, eARC is basically ARC with support for lossless audio. I was just saying that despite the feature being interoperable between manufacturers, sometimes they won't work properly. Probably still some quirks they need to sort out.

Probably because the AV amplifier is not HDMI 2.1? My current Yamaha RX-V685 only has passthrough for up to 4K/60 for example. I'm planning to upgrade to RX-V6A so that everything end-to-end is HDMI 2.1 ready (Xbox-Amplifier-TV).

2) buy 3x xbox live gold 12month timecard, can get from shopee, lazada but i get from g2a around usd43 for each, the price fluctuate daily one.
3) I don reload 1 go, i reload 1 timecard 1 day, 2 another day. remember reload u choose not to recurring. but i dont think is a problem to reload 3 1 go la.. i not sure tis one.
4) Reload usd20, u can use it to pay the usd1 and microsoft always wan u to standby the usd14.99 for payment for recurring after your 3 year expire.
5) subscribe to gamepass ultimate for usd1, then it will convert ur xbox live gold remaining months to gamepass ultimate

Nope. They are only bringing in Series S apparently. For now. I actually registered interest with Impulse back in September. But because they never came back to me, I went with GH for PO. And now we all are without a Series X
