QUOTE(SubRoutine @ Nov 12 2020, 01:55 PM) Not trying to be a buzzkill but I suggest that you guys dont get Series S. Take AC Valhalla for example, the game runs up to 1440p at 30 FPS. From SkillUp review IIRC Xbox will be my secondary next gen console solely play Game Pass Ultimate as i will move on to PS5 once it release Slim version 1440p is still ok, coz Series S has the hardware to upscale to 4K. But 30fps...? dang. But i also saw that AC Valhalla wont be running native 4k on Xbox Series X |

QUOTE(SubRoutine @ Nov 12 2020, 04:55 PM) 60FPS but Dynamic 4K I think? Honestly I can't remember from Skillup's review, I'll link it here for you. Probably cause this game also appear in current gen (PS4 & XB1) which developer might .. lazy to adjust ? Haha It's so damn weird why Series S can't do 60fps. Just use dynamic resolution, what's the issue? Simply rush the work |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Nov 12 2020, 05:06 PM) Assassin creed valhalla is a very taxing game. Even rtx3090 also cannot run 4k 60fps. 60fps is not easy la for series S, their gpu is so limited. Console better to fix the framerate, if fluctuate is more frustrating la. If put 60 but cannot sustain, then reso drop until very bad if dynamic also susah lol. So 1440p 30fps might be the compromised choice. But from techpowerup analysis, this game graphics is indeed next gen, altho no raytracing but looks superb the details all. Thinking of buying to play lol. But review also said this game is boring XD |

QUOTE(tripleB @ Nov 12 2020, 05:12 PM) I hope this doesn't become the norm going forward. The entire idea behind Series S is that whatever Series X can do, it can do too. Except it will just be limited to 1440p only, and it won't have an optical drive. If we can't even have performance parity, Microsoft just torpedoed the Series S, and pretty much force everyone to get Series X instead. Nice say, hahaI actually just wanna have good frame rate of gaming compare to high resolution right now. |

QUOTE(tripleB @ Nov 12 2020, 05:29 PM) Not to say we can't tell the framerate, since I can feel the difference between a 30 fps game and 60 fps game in console games. Personally I prefer a locked framerate versus unlocked framerate, since the game will feel better to control. I would suggest you to hold off on purchasing "next gen" TV right now as most of the TV right now having compatible issue also specially if u combine with soundbar.Btw I've been eyeing the Samsung Q80T for next year, since it's fully HDMI 2.1 compliant. The 55" model is relatively affordable, but jumping to 65" immediately adds almost RM4000 to the figure! Assuming my Series X can arrive by then, it would be perfect timing for me to test out 120fps gaming on console. Probably wait sometime and do some homework before purchase. I just purchased one Samsung Q950T soundbar which promo to have HDMI2.1 but right now not sure is firmware lock or what, AVforums ppl mention it cant passtru 4k120hz using eArc. QUOTE(tripleB @ Nov 12 2020, 07:55 PM) I don't know about that particular TV or soundbar, but I used to have eArc related issue back then. My current TV is a Samsung KS7000. It was at one point one of the recommended TVs for Xbox One X/PS4 Pro. I run my Bluray player, Astro box, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro through a Yamaha RX-V683 AV receiver. At that time I didn't really care about eArc, since I prefer having the device do the decoding instead of the TV. One day I was curious about enabling eArc, because if I use the TV's Netflix or Youtube app, I need to use the TV speakers instead. Hi bro, don't mix eArc with Arc actually I've checked and double checked which HDMI port needs to be used for eArc. I made sure the TV speakers are not set to Bluetooth or TV. Nothing worked. I could never get eArc to work. Earlier this year, I traded in that RX-V683 with a RX-V685. It's technically a refresh of the same series, just updated with 5 x HDCP 2.2 ports instead of 3 x HDCP 2.2 on the RX-V683. Without even needing to configure anything, eArc worked flawlessly. The TV is still the same; only the AV amplifier was changed. I guess despite having common standards in place, sometimes things just don't work as it's supposed to. eArc is the latest one which utilise HDMI 2.1 right now which is the only HDMI right now that support 4k 120hz |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Nov 13 2020, 08:42 AM) the receiver got support, tv i dont know lol. but if no eARC, it will be ARC, it is backward compatible. Haha, but right now in AVForums, it seems like xbox series has some issue if there is AV/ soundbar in between. Either u lose HDR (Turn off UHD) or u lose Audio Atmos. Still reading though |

QUOTE(tripleB @ Nov 13 2020, 09:02 AM) Yeah you're right. 2016 model. It must be ARC then. Still, eARC is basically ARC with support for lossless audio. I was just saying that despite the feature being interoperable between manufacturers, sometimes they won't work properly. Probably still some quirks they need to sort out. QUOTE(tripleB @ Nov 13 2020, 09:05 AM) Probably because the AV amplifier is not HDMI 2.1? My current Yamaha RX-V685 only has passthrough for up to 4K/60 for example. I'm planning to upgrade to RX-V6A so that everything end-to-end is HDMI 2.1 ready (Xbox-Amplifier-TV). Yea, u r right actuallyThat's why i will say hold off to purchase any recent new modern TV if wanna enjoy the best experience also (a.k.a future proof) As right now most of those "connection" or "handshake" are not well implement. |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Nov 13 2020, 01:04 PM) u subscribe gamepass ultimate US region? Not sure bro, if me i create new acc lol, cos takut later u reload live gold then u no longer eligible for the 1 off conversion. I think somebody shared back then on how to do that.. this was in discussion before series x/s launched lol. BUt i share my step la Step 7: now go find Xbox series S or X1) Create new xbox/microsoft account US region, make sure ur PC is also US region at language and region. email i use gmail one. Make sure ur email alias is not same with ur previous one. like now is abc123@hotmail.com, dont use abc123@gmail.com or watever. Might be causing issue later. 2) buy 3x xbox live gold 12month timecard, can get from shopee, lazada but i get from g2a around usd43 for each, the price fluctuate daily one. 3) I don reload 1 go, i reload 1 timecard 1 day, 2 another day. remember reload u choose not to recurring. but i dont think is a problem to reload 3 1 go la.. i not sure tis one. 4) Reload usd20, u can use it to pay the usd1 and microsoft always wan u to standby the usd14.99 for payment for recurring after your 3 year expire. 5) subscribe to gamepass ultimate for usd1, then it will convert ur xbox live gold remaining months to gamepass ultimate 6) voila u got ur 36months gamepass ultimate someone can correct me if im wrong Lol lol lol |

QUOTE(tripleB @ Nov 16 2020, 01:36 PM) Nope. They are only bringing in Series S apparently. For now. I actually registered interest with Impulse back in September. But because they never came back to me, I went with GH for PO. And now we all are without a Series X Gg... i'm hoping that Qisahn Series S 2nd batch can send out earlier |

QUOTE(entity @ Nov 16 2020, 04:29 PM) Last week I noticed 2 units available for preorder on their Shopee page. I messaged them personally and asked when they would arrive. Their reply was that I should ignore those preorders as they were already booked. Me, being the idiot that I am, believed them and didn't buy lol. If you see last week, that 2 units is the balance unit payment then. There was either some under the table dealings going on at Impulse or some people managed to buy those 2 units. They open the 2 units for the booked buyer who paid partial payment previously in order to make full remaining balance |
