Hi, I just bought my KU990 today.

I bought it in Kota Kinabalu, at RM 2099. I think it is the same deal as most of the early adopters got, i.e. phone+screen protector+1GB memory card+Canon CP740 printer. However, I traded in my Sony Ericsson P990i and the final price was RM 1400, +3% because I used CC. The shop I bought it from told me they had already sold 5 units before mine. And that the canon photo printer promo will end in December.

Added on December 20, 2007, 6:32 pmOh, I just found out that not only will the KU990 gets charged using USB on a MAC (running on ancient OS X 10.3 nonetheless), it will also show up in Finder as a storage device, if you set the USB connection to Mass Storage. Nice!

This phone rocks. The camera / video function is quite good for a cameraphone. but i really don't quite like the shutter sound, because it is so fake! and there is no way to shut it off?! grr....

Unfortunately, that's the trick. Price of phone without the printer is RM1999.00 (normal retail price being RM2099.00). Difference of RM100 only.

The only other way around this is to buy the package and then sell of the printer separately to recoup some money.

Noel: when you type an sms, the top right corner should have 3 boxes. the left most box, when you click on it, should come out with 3 selection: keyboard, handwritting screen & handwritting box. select keyboard and and the screen should switch to the landscape mode with the qwerty keyboard. i'm on KU990_V10b as well. Hope that helps.

tony_chew: how on earth did you manage to get the viewty at RM1099?!?!?! please tell me it is a typo or some very special case, or else, i think i'm going to jump off the cliff...

tony_chew: talk about taking pics, did you notice a peculiarity with the Viewty's camera function? i found out that if i set the ISO to 100, then the flash will not fire. In any other ISO settings, the flash will fire. Is this the funny thing with this phone?

And why is it that I have to enter the time everytime i removed the battery from the phone? Is this another one of those LG "features"? sorry, this is the first time i'm using LG so not sure if this is a norm or not.

ahza7880: ouch.... that's gonna hurt. i just use a normal pouch that looks like a sock. for the time being, hantam first lah. better than no protection at all.

seaedge: thanks for confirming my speculation about the re-entering of the time after each time we remove the battery. this is a real bummer, especially for people who swap their memory card or sim card very often (not me).

How much is the 2nd hand value of this phone ah? Thought of selling my 1 month old phone but paiseh lah wanna put in the tradezone without knowing how much i expect to sell it for.

i don't understand why you want an unlocked version. unless you are not in Malaysia... i think all Viewtys in Malaysia are unlocked version.

never had any problems witih my battery at all, yet. didn't charge it for 10 hours the first also. but my battery is still going strong. like Fishjr said, if my battery still have 2 bars, i still can last another day, or at least 1/2 day. i think there may be something wrong with your battery.

xakarix84: it shouldn't hang when taking photos at max resolution, with a lot of details to capture. come to think of it, for the whole month i had used this phone, it only had hanged on my 2 times. once when i was trying to sync with my iBook (only the first time it hanged - after that ok already) and the 2nd time was when i was playing space commando and suddenly received a call.
