Anybody know how does this phone fare compare to Samsung G800/808? They both spots 5MP camera but the Sammy has 3X optical.

I'm trying very hard to resist and hold on the temptation of buying this phone now until the Samsung G800 cames out. Got to see which one is better before making up my mind. I'm a bit sway to Viewty cause it has a touch screen (I'm a long time PPC user). Planning to get one with a good camera set to complement my u1000.

Damn, everytime i visited this thread the temptation is getting stronger.
Both viewty and g800 take decent shots.
Viewty win in user interface but g800 has no competition with its 3xoptic. zoom.

Does anybody know the free printer package still on?

Use ISO400 or 800 to take the shot, it should brighten up your image considerably. But beware it will also introduce noise though. The image looks kind of blurry and lost focus, have you turn on the image stabilizer?

How is the image compare to this one?

I took this with my U1000.
Checked yesterday in Gurney Plaza LG counter(they had a viewty promotion counter there), being told that the printer bundle offer was due on yesterday. Anyone know is this true or not?

Here is the latest shootout between Sammy G808, KU990, N82 and N95:-

It seems like N82 is very good, only lose out to Sammy G808 in zoom test.
For Viewty, you can take a very good photos provided you span a lot of time tweak the setting.

Wow wow, now you are trying to compare CCD with CMOS camera, thats just not fair. If only these phone company care to invest in CCD....

Come on, why people just can't accept the truth? First don't compare camera phone with digital camera, and now even camera phone also cannot compare with camera phone? Kinda sian with all these kind of responses... unsure.gif

If you care to know more, Canon is famous for their CMOS sensor, they even use CMOS for their DSLR cameras. So it's NOT about CCD or CMOS. smile.gif
*
I know CMOS has and outstanding performance in DSLR but not in the phone model. Anyhow, if you know how CCD function you should know that generally CCD is more sensitive and able to capture better image under low light condition.
There is another model in the market which i think is quite good as well and a tad bit faster than i902, the LG KG920. It also spots a 5MP CCD sensor.

Asked the LG promoter here in PG last Sunday in Gurney Plaza, they quoted me RM2099 no negotiation and the due date for printer bundle was....well last Sunday sad.gif . Will try to ask around later to see if the bundle is still on or not.
If no printer than i think i'm going to give this unit a pass and go for Sammy G800 due to its 3xopt.zoom.

without the printer the price will drop to 1.4-1.5k very very soon, dont fall into the trap set by marketing ppl. ( if the printer is worth anything, normally printer worth nothing, canon would give away printer for free and make profit on the refill).

It is not the normal ink printer but uses dye-sublimation which can produce a very vivid and vibrant color that will last for almost a 100years!
One of the reason i want to get this phone is because of this printer.

Viewty known only for its superb video play back not photo. But you can also take a good snap only if you know how to tweak the setting. If you are a point-n-shoot style user look else where, you are going to be really disappointed with it auto setting.

good. thx for the reply. just what i'm hoping for. hopefully will be the new owner of viewty

Last Sunday checked with one shop in Prangin Mall, he still has the printer stock with him(only 3 left). I'm still waiting to see how G800 fare compare to Viewty before i decide on which one to go for. So far, it seems like G800 is better in photo taking while Viewty best in Video and user friendliness.

SE won't be able to compare to Viewty in video. The smoothness you have to see to for yourself to appreciate it.

The hacked theme FAQ was already been announced quite a while ago in UK and chinese site, not a big deal. You just need to grab yourself a copy of EFS_MEDIA_BUILDER. And with some knowledge of flash and you are ready to go.

Staying power of battery is depends on many factor. Distance from the mask is one of them. The further away you are from the mask, the faster the battery drained cause extra juice is needed to keep the connection on.
