There are like 212 results saying it has STROBE FLASH There are 11,100 results saying it has XENON FLASH so which is it? and i watch 10 or more reviews or demo of KU990 on youtube and NO ONE..not a SINGLE ONE mention anything bout the FLASH.. |

Main advantages over SE K850i - a much larger screen (3"), much better video recording (VGA 30fps, QVGA 120fps cool slow motion effect), comparable camera quality, manual and auto focus, divx certified player, size wise, proportionally thinner?? Nice phone in terms of design. Tested the Prada phone, and this Ku990 is using the same flash interface as Prada, so no high expectation on speed;IMO Prada is quite slow. Something new is the 120fps, which capture slow motion effect.
This phone will be shipped to Malaysia as heard from LG dealers, but most probably below 2.5k-3k. Prada LG is expensive because of the Prada branded. Prada brand stripped, added features=RM2.8k? As for K850-KU990 question, i would take K850i. But my hand itch for new stuff like KU990; K850i just like what predecessor has to offer, only better lens. |

there is nothing wrong with LG.. this phone has been very popular in UK.. Added on November 11, 2007, 11:23 amthe best at this stage is probably to look at UK ebay if these people are willing to send to M'sia.. warranty would be another issue ..It can easily be had for around $250GBP = $1,7xx? excluding postage.. im more interested with the comparison with k850i's capability.
as the price range is almost the same. i'd choose this model over k850i anytime if the price is the same. provided that this phone doesnt lag like the N-series. |

supazta, from all the reviews I have read, you will probably not be disappointed with the phone menu response - I would think it's much more responsive than the Nokia Nseries that I have tried.

i just went through some video demo about KU990 in youtube
i find that the touch screen is not so sensitive (one of the reason could be, everything is operated by finger touching, the package doesnt bundle with stylus) from the video, the demonstrator tends to press a couple of time before it can actually execute a certain program or command that sound like a negative point to me |

Added on November 15, 2007, 6:33 pmlg phone here is not overpriced and from my understanding, they do carry reasonable second hand value.. tbh, most of us here are on contracts with carriers...the price of the phones are heavily subsidised by the carriers, and we change phone almost once in 1 1/2 year when our contracts end. imagine that u are buying some coffee at coffee bean and theres plenty of ppl using the wifi.. do u think that ur connection is fast ? besides 3.5g can make you surf the internet anywhere !! this phone rocks !! |

When i use LG Shine, scroll wheel become very loosen or less sensitive after a matter of time, memory card mp3 cant play or can set as ringtone sometimes.
On LG choc, sound not as nice as other phones, the end call button is located at the which is hard to me to press sometimes. The back glossy part will easily get scratches when just putting on the table and soon the gloss start to peels away. On KG920, Picture quality is really disappointing at night even using xenon flahs, the xenon not flashin bright enough and its battery life is weak. The joystick i located at the right of the keypad which made sms a lil harder but better for the camera's. The sound is loud but not clear and it cost rm2k for it.. Even K800 is better and only coz rm1.2K last time.. |

come on guys.. which manufacturer does not produce a defect mobile phone? many examples from other manufacturers if you ask me: Nokia N76, Samsung U700, SE S500 ... dont be picky on LG for one bad user experience.. listen to many others...
I'm going to give LG a try this time.. coming from Motorola, Samsung and Nokia .. i want something different this time My Viewty is coming soon.. |

120fps is good for recording slow motion videos. I think it's a nice feature whenever you feel like using it. Do a search on youtube and look for the videos recorded at 120fps.

First impression, the phone's build quality is excellent. No squirking and feel solid on hand.. backcover is made of aluminium and feels a bit heavier than the samsung.
menu response has been very accurate so far.. although i must admit that it takes some time to get used to. haven't had the time to transfer pictures to my desktop. Took a few pictures and they look good on screen. It takes one to two second to take these pictures. I have tried taking pictures in complete dark room - it turns out sharp and great on screen (settings - ISO 800, Night mode with Flash). The flash to me is quite adequate and in my opinion, quite powerful. Added on November 23, 2007, 11:16 pmsome cons that I found so far - no cover for the camera lens. SMS limits to 300 texts? my phone lasts for two days with lots of fiddling around. My guess is on average 2 to 2.5 days with normal usage unless you are heavy user. The phone will definitely manage to survive a day with extreme usage.

None of them have stock yet. All of them say that theyll be getting the phone next week. As for the price...I think most of them will hike up the price like crazy. The quoted price range that i got is 1990 the lowest from one shop and another shop 2600. All the other shops are in between these 2 prices. When la Malaysians will stop hiking price like super duper cekik darah one. I didnt reserve any. Hey cmon guys..this isnt a comparison thread. This is to discuss the viewty. Of course it wouldnt win the pic quality competition but i dont think the pic quality is the only reason someone would want to buy the viewty.
Of course the imobile would win hands down but im still gonna choose the viewty over the imobile. Anyway lets get back on track. If anybody has made any scouting like i did and could get a quoted price...please list it down on this thread so that we can compare where we can get it at the lowest price. That would be more beneficial i believe. |

ok checked it already. The phone will arrive on wednesday. RM2099 for 1st batch, 2nd batch he said RM2100++ cant remember the exact price.
The 1st batch will get a canon printer if i interpret what he said correctly. I think the small printer for digicam. Im definitely gonna get the 1st batch haha. BTW, Pyramid's parking are f*cked up man. Took me so long to get a parking spot. |

Well guys...I went to sg wang and lowyat again today (saturday).
They still dont have it. The earlisted claim is that they'll get it on Monday earliest but most probably on Tuesday. Please dont go to the LG shop in LYP. That was the worse...the guy there quoted 2999!!! Anyway...the printer offer is also true. Its not a shop promotion, its something LG cooked up for the early batch. So it doesnt really matter where u guys get it. |

equally to 20++ messages a day with 200 SMS storage, that could last me for a week, means i have to delete my SMS every week, lol |

the n95 is a good phone.
however i wud consider the ku990 over the n95 due to the following reasons : preference for a touch phone with big screen. the first choice wud be the iphone. however the iphone does not have 3G. It is not officially launched and supported here in this part of the world. maxis has problem with iphone. moreover, it is way overpriced in the local market. the wifi feature wud be nice, but i prefer 3g due to freedom and mobility. yeah these rascals, we shud boycot them. maybe if we can all group together our purchases to find a bona fide seller

i dun think the stylus is that useful since the user interface is designed for FINGERS.. tbh, i have no complaint about the stylus

goodness ... i called "LG Representative Phone No 03-74912888" aiyo .... i waited for a five minutes on the line before someone from sales answered my call. A malay chap answered, I feedbacked to him, regarding the notorious sellers at sg wang. I asked him to direct me to their shop proper and phone nos. He seemed helpful, said he will call me back ... im waiting ... ahahahahaha

Seems like mservices from the garage sells is selling the viewty for about Rm1880 with 1gb (warranty from LG Malaysia). Not too sure about the printer though.

im loving this phone ! It's so easy to use. I feel like using a nokia phone. Anyway, iPhone touch screen is better coz i think it has more feel to it.
But having said that, the viewty touchscreen is not bad at all. It's quite good. |

seems that some place are offering the free memory card and some shops are offering the memory card on their own. not getting from ken in sunway due to the parking/distance hassle and also the additional CC charge |

I played with the phone yesterday at Gurney Plaza in Penang. Well it was kinda nice overall but there were a few flaws. First the Camera lens is not protected in anyway. The design is in such a way as the lens protudes from the body there in only a little indent from the rims. Kinda easy to get scratched. The phone had a little lag when it came to navigating menus,alitte slower than Sony's K800. And there is no way to turn off the shutter sound for both phote and video mode.
However taking photos and videos with the phone was brilliant with the big screen. Auto focus was fast but saving was kinda slow. (Slower than Imobile 902) |

my friend commited 30 units from LG, thats why he ask me to sell it out with the printer. chances to sell like that is low becoz my friend wanna clear the printers too. summore you can resell back oso wat.... xP

Just brought viewty at 2k with 1G card and printer. Great phone. Now need to time to adjust myself to it coz I used to symbian os.

went to the LG shop in Sunway (the one outside the IT section), wanted to try out the unit but guess wad.. the touch screen wasnt working!! in the end i went to the shop mentioned in the previous pages n tried it.. the manager say oni 3 units left wor.. dunno true or not. anyway, after the incident in the first shop, im really in doubt whether or not i shud get this phone.. new unit jus took out from the box touch screen not working already

hi guys, when viewing pictures taken by the phone on a landscape mode, does anyone of you know to get rid of the black bar on both sides of the screen? I would like to view those pictures on full screen thx

i have done a small review here about this phone. sadly i dont that much time to go through it, just a 5 minutes hand on. and all that is my personal opinions.

Hello gang, new viewty user here. questions
1) haptic feedback/slight vibration- do you need to turn this function on or off? myself and my wife cant seem to feel it at all. maybe there is a defect on my unit ? 2) Where to buy the leather case? feel like getting this or the GOLLA cases. here is my review after 2 days 1)great screen ( and i havent even take off the protective screen cover yet! ) 2)touchscreen - most ppl, including myself kept trying to tap the screen to fast, just like how we usually do with computer touchpads. the thing is, the screen works best if you just press and hold it slightly, and the icon will have a circle around it. 3) UI - responsive but not extremely fast but its satisfactory. not a very complicated UI system, dummy proof. only problem i have is with the security settings. 4) camera - great ! already tons of review on the net so i wont bother to talk more 5) pictures - you cant rotate pics ? can someone verify this? yeah, theme is seriously lacking. im still using the black and white theme.
so any viewty users can comment on the haptic/tactile feedback? part 2 of the review CONS 1) only one single port for charging/headphone - you cant listen to music while charging the phone unless you have a Stereo BT headset 2) you cant scroll through all options a-la iphone style where you flick your fingers up and down. 3) auto update of time and date - i think there is a bug here....if i enable auto update, it keeps updating one day behind....strange 4) you cant set an alarm for your TO DO items, which i find strange!! 5) 2gb memory limitations on a 5mp phone....hmn.... those LG engineers must be smoking pot or ate some bad wakame..... |
