To all Recond car owners,

I wanna ask about your ownership experience by using recond car.
Mind to share?

I think recond car is used car with new car interest rate but people always said that used car is better than recond car.

Is recond car really that bad?

Anyone has own a problematic recond car even the grade stated in car cert is 4 and above? (Japan car)

(Just a bit curious)
(Sorry but car newbie here)

Just curious why buy a second hand car when you can get brand new. Just because it's made in Japan?

I think biggest risk with recond cars is the dealer might play hanky panky with the mileage. If local used car most likely you can cross reference the service manual with the SC where the owner serviced the car.

I think nowadays the actual mileage and condition of the car can check thru website.
Dealer no longer can cheat I guess...

I bought a recon 2008 Toyota Mark X almost 8 years ago and the car has been serving me well beyond expectations. The only issue I got was a vibration from the fuel pump housing but once changed it has been practically problem free. Purchasing experience was also a breeze and fast without any exorbitant 'handling' fees. The main downside of recon cars is the price a bit higher than locally used cars but compensated by the lower interest rate.

The reason for me because the car I wanted (Mark X GRX120) was only available thru recon distributors and I don't fancy the new replacement model (grx130) as much coz it's a tad slower and heavier while looking less distinctive.

i hope i can get some advice here too........

Was eyeing a japanese 2015 WRX STI recon unit, recently spotted one unit with a decent price tag and mileage (slightly above 15K mileage). Are japanese WRX STI recon's a good choice?

Thank you peeps

Hmm, I don't have actual experience but you may get the car Chasis Number and check its history or birt cert on

SCRUT

You can obtain it's condition before import to Malaysia!

Nowadays recond dealer can rarely cheat buyer already!

Hope this help!

I doubt a 2015 car can have such low mileage of 15K, better check first.

btw, almost all used car and re-con car's odometer is tempered.

Scrut only can check once the car entered auction, before enter auction, the mileage sure tampered.

However, good about checking Scrut is able to check the car grade and was it accident before.

So long you don't get cheated by recond dealer (which I did) IMHO recond car from Japan better than local.

People there generally treat their cars much better than local and follow proper specs/procedures and intervals

Overseas also can
Many services offerings you can check actual mileage and some (more expensive ones) directly check with Japanese database

I seriously doubt the mileage before auction will be adjusted/tampered especially cars from japan.

Please do not assume that every other country out there especially Japan is similar to bolehland laws, regulations and loopholes wise lol.
