As the title mentioned, I'm looking for 27" IPS 1440p IPS panel, and I'm eyeing Acer VG271UP right now. Is it a good buy? My budget can be go till RM1.8k, initially I was planned to buy LG 27GL850, but no stock already.

https://www.acer.com/ac/en/MY/content/model/UM.HV1SM.P02

Apart from Acer one, any other recommendation?

Thanks!

My amd card automatically changes to 10bit. You're using nvidia?

I guess you need to change the color settings using your graphic setting software

Does this monitor work with MacBook air 2015 i5 model? I tried outputting using Display port to HDMI on 1080p tv. It works but I wonder if it can be used on this 1440p display

Dont see any reason why it shouldnt. This monitor has both display port and hdmi as input. Your macbook might struggle if you're planning to play games at 1440p. On the bright side you're future proofing yourself incase one day you decide to hook this monitor to a gaming pc/console

Primarily I'll be hooking this to Illegear Onyx 2060 but just wondering if my wife could utilize it as well on her MacBook. Thanks for the input. Currently searching for best for buck 1440p 144hz freesync monitor. This monitor seems to be at high value for it's price compared to others as it is really hard to find 1440p 144hz monitor at this price range. The common pricing seems to be around RM1700+ aside from TUF monitor that goes for around 1500+ I believe

I realized my GTX 970 doesn't support 10bit bye.gif

But planning to upgrade my card anyway to utilize the 1440p & 144hz haha.

Bought it and happy with it. Super good buy!

I heard 5700 XT got overheat problem (my fren who is running PC shop)

Hence I will go RTX 2070 super instead tongue.gif

Playing single player games like Witcher, Borderlands 3. Plan to play Fallen Order after finish the first two. Which I dunno when, provided no time to play but itch buy these upgrades haha

Was it 5700XT reference blower type or AIB model with dual fan? Even tech news implied that but on the reference blower type unit.

Blower type is bad in general for common PC case and above mid range card.

Sorry for late reply. It's AIB model unfortunately. Turns out I bough MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 2070 Super.

But.. I found two problems:
- No 10 bit color option (Even changed the refresh rate to 120 or 60
- No FreeSync setting

Troubleshoot here and thre but fail sweat.gif

- 10 bit color only works on display port at 120Hz. Change this in Nvidia control panel under resolution section.
- Gsync (compatible) settings will only show up in Nvidia control panel if you are on displayport and after enabled freesync in monitor gaming section settings. U can enable on screen fps counter in monitor settings to see if it is working.

For gaming, just go 144hz 8bit as not much game will benefit from it yet. For creative work then it is worth to change to 10bit
