My hubby and I were planning to have our short babymoon trip for nearby countries for 4-5 days only. I have checked AA (they only allowed till 34 weeks) and MAS (they allowed till 36 weeks for single pregnancy). Although MAS stated that I would need to have a letter from doctor for fit to travel and need to sign a declaration form, but the rules are quite vague. Eg. validity of the doctor letter, or how if the ground crew rejected me on the spot?

Hope anyone who can share this experience. I really worried if we planned everything but last minute unable to onboard the flight. Thanks!

Yes you will need a written letter from doctor but they may still deny your access.

Better go somewhere not required to fly or take ground transport

Yup, even the doctor and the airline customer service couldn't guarantee besides than giving the official answer.

Seems like need to reconsider our trip again unsure.gif .

If you are after 7 months better don't travel. Not good for baby and anything can happen

We traveled to Fukuoka Japan on AA at Week 30-31. Just needed doctor's letter and be at the airport earlier to fill up a form. My wife had a checkup 2 days before the trip to make sure baby is ok.

At week 34 however, my advice is avoid flying unless it's unavoidable. MAS might allow you to fly since it's up to 36 weeks but consider somewhere that's drive-able.

Enjoy rest of the pregnancy and safe delivery!

dont understand why people want to take the risk just for short holiday.
anything can happen during the trip, not only aeroplane, but also resort etc. imagine you need to go to hospital where you are at a strange place, use public transport?
even resort, island is so remote, you can get good doctors to attend to you?
Please be a responsible parent, otherwise dont concieve.

I'm not sure why you sounded so harsh especially the last sentence. Sounds likes you assume that we conceived accidentally yet want to travel. My hubby just want to give me a birthday trip before we are entering the parenthood and I'm trying to seek everyone advice before deciding on our trip.

When my wife was carrying our 1st child she followed me on a trip while 32 weeks pregnant and she had a letter from her gynae that stated she was fit to fly.

It was a trip to Taipei.

What was supposed to be a 2 week trip had to be extended to 3 weeks. It is important that your gynae provides you with a letter that states you are fit to fly up until your projected return flight, in our case ours gave us till 36 weeks.

When we landed we had to go straight to the hospital as she started feeling pains.

For our 2nd, she took a 2 week trip at 32 weeks but trip went past the 34 weeks as there was some delays. She was allowed to board without issues.

Anyway point is it can be done if that is what you want.

I thought just got a case where a Malaysian couple gave birth in Korea during a trip. Wife was pregnant only 6 months. The hospital bill was so expensive had to ask for donation.

Most people always have the mentality of 'it wont happen to me' until it really happen to them. Your financial plans will be greatly affected. Whether it is worth the risk or not, u decide..
