Hi guys I have persistent cough issue since 2017.

Ruled out TB, and symptom my throat is everlasting dry.

Tried one specialist in private hospital but found no issue with using the optical tube device down the throat.

Since its end of the year and I can utilize my allowance quota,

Any suggestion for good throat specialist in KV?

Whoever & whatever doctor you go, I'd suggest you ask for them to keep an eye for atypical asthma & GERD

Hi TS, I recovered from TB few years back, would advise you to go for chest inspection or chest x-ray. As my previous experienced, ENT specialist couldn't diagnose TB symptoms.

Have already done TB check first at Sg Buloh TB centre in late 2018 as that was my biggest worry.

wasnt able to have sputum analysis due to throat too dry cannot generate sputum.

So just only had xray and blood test analysis, the doctors then ruled out TB as they said my lung looks clear.

My other next big concern is any tumor or cancer risk, which havent really check yet. So Im thinking to ask ENT about this, on this round of visit.

The ENT professor (Female Indian) prescribed me Omeprazole (Sandoz brand).

Somehow I dont feel gastric symptom at my stomach, but this pill really controlled my cough immediately on the first day I had it.

According to the professor its possible the stomach acid crept up to the esophagus tract and affect the throat causing the cough (or something like that).

initially i take the pills daily

then after few months I am confident the cough are under control and now I take the pill only when I had the cough again (which happen only like 1 or 2 times a week).

The effect of the pill is nearly instantaneous, so I am satisfied with this particular type of GERD medicine and its brand.

try the inhalers - the blue one for asthma and the brown one that contains steroids
the blue one whenever you feel chest uneasiness
the brown one - once in the morning and once at night
do this continuous without fail until the cough stops (might take months).
this is from my experience (i am not a doctor)

the pill is temporary not permanent... i think
the inhalers (blue and brown) is a better solution
when cough is getting lesser - a dose of cough mixture is able to end the cough altogether
this is from my experience(i am not a doctor)

I don't encourage people to try inhalers on their own without proper diagnosis, prescription and technique. These inhalers are typically prescribed for patients with asthma or COPD. Not much benefits if u do not have those conditions and you might end up with possible side effects like palpitation, oral candidiasis, etc... (I am a medical graduate)

Hi Derick,

Good day. I have this small pimples on top of my lips. Can you help to diagnose whether it's coldsore or just normal pimples ? I always have pimples around my face so I aren't aware if it's just normal pimples.
