Have a redmi note 8, looking to get a fast charger, but have no clue which one are reputable brands. Multiple ports would be a plus.

Baseus and Aukey are reputable brands with multiple ports. Of course Baseus will be relatively lighter on the wallet.

Ugreen or Tronsmart

I still have a Tronsmart smart charger, which I forgot to list. Also worth considering as part of your list as it is reliable.

Won't affect. Battery life degrades due to the number of charging cycles and heat emission from within the phone. Pointless to have fast charging feature but not utilising it. Safe to say, almost all of the chargers are manufactured in PRC. Just pick the brand that is reputable and reliable.

Hope you managed to get yourself a good deal with the fast charger. Also don't forget to get yourself a good USB 3.1 Type-C charging cable.

I went for Aukey 72W (1 typeC port, 2 typeA ports). The typeC port up to 62W.
It's around RM200+.

I got the topk thank you. it shows up on the phone as quick charge. but no clue how to tell how fast its charging. XD

Depending on the brand of your phone, some do show time remaining before the battery is fully charged. A more accurate way of measuring is to let the battery drain to 0%, than set the timer to measure how long it takes to charge to 100%.

I'm using samsung note 8. From notification panel there is no difference in charging time between samsung original charger and cable vs topk charger and cable.

Even my Ugreen charger rated QC 2.0 also give the same estimated time.

note 8 only accepts max 15w so no too much of a difference there in terms of charging speed

You will see a difference in the charging times, if using S10+ or Note 10+. Note 8 is limited max at 15 watts.

note 10+ ships with a 25 watt charger. There is a separate 45w charger that you can buy but the improvement is not too significant compared to the 25watt charger AND you need to bring the correct cable too
