Bought a 4gb RAM and ssd during 11/11 sales. Need to look for shops which
can help me install both at a reasonable price. Area is in KL.

Warranty still valid, scared if I install myself will break the seal, then warranty go void.
Consider to get a longer warranty period from the same shop after installation of ram and ssd.

Any recommendation? Kindly appreciate the replies. Thanks.

install into what?

laptop or desktop?
*
Laptop. Already checked the ori specs. SSD and RAM left 1 space to be installed. Both also compatible.
Now only finding shop to help installing and extending warranty after the modification, with a reasonable price.

Memory and hard disks are almost always user serviceable and will not void the warranty.

Unless you're using an Apple product, in which case even breathing on too hard may void the warranty. /s

There is a warranty seal just covering the screw. Some suggest I just take it off and stick it back after
finish installing. Sked my hand slipped, seal broken and warranty gone.

Acer Aspire 5

only authorized seller can help extend ur laptop warranty..

u wanted to install SSD and RAM into the same space?
*
Same space? U mean ssd slot and ram slot? They shud be in different space right???

Try doing it yourself. More satisfaction. It's not that hard. Well, unless you're laptop is very difficult to open.
*
Like I said, scared hand slipped and broke the seal. If my warranty expired then will try. But my laptop is new (6 months) so I wont take the risk.

If the shop just provide service to install those items, they don't give warranty for items you bought else where.

So got any recommendations?

Where is the location of the seal? Nowadays, manufacturers don't seem to put seals to prevent (curious) people from opening up their laptop. Most of them nowallow self upgrading of hdd/ssd and RAM.

No shop give warranty for items that you bought from somewhere else.
If those items spoiled, you can always go back tp the original seller.
*
So the only thing is warranty of the laptop cannot be extend if I installed those items?
Those items have their own warranty and my concern is the laptop warranty.

make sure the ram is compatible. and snap the photo of the ram before installing. some shops might "songlap" your ram
*
Thats why I am asking the recommendation here. Ram and ssd compatible, checked.

Doesn't matter. ACER Malaysia does not void warranty for tearing up the sticker
As long as you don't cause physical damage to the computer, you are still protected by the warranty
*
Glad to hear that.

Additional parts or components that you installed have no effect on the notebook warranty.
If you want to extend the notebook warranty, you have to contact Acer.
Only Acer can give you extended notebook warranty, no one else can do that
*
So does their official store provide installation of ssd and ram? I plan to do it all at once including extend the warranty of my laptop.

do you have any friend that you trusted to install for you or you prefer shop?
*
Nope, 1 friend suggest me to learn and install myself to save cost. But of course need to do a lot of homework
to minimize the risk of wrong installation. SSD installation need to reinstall Windows again and I am
not even an IT person. So I pass.

That is why I ask some suggestions and recommendations here.
