I just fresh install my Windows 10. It was activated with digital license upon signing in my microsoft account. No problem on this.

But I had issues with the activation previously on my windows before formatting. Suddenly my windows was not activated and no matter what I tried, cannot activate it even my microsoft account has digital license of windows 10. This happened twice already. Everytime I had to reinstall windows to get it activated. Anyone know what is this weird issue? Something corrupt my windows?

Nope. its the usual windows problem. Previous windows they got the same problem with enforcing WGA update causing many computer treated as non-licence or pirated windows. Either way you stuck with it.

what can i do to prevent this from happening again??

None. Disable the whole windows update/service if you want then you wont get any new updates for your windows. Most software/program depends on windows 10 update services so the choice is yours. What program/software you use?

Have u contact Microsoft thought web they might help?

Did u change your motherboard?

My suggestion is remove your PC Windows 10 device with the Microsoft Live account and used offline windows account.
Normally the activation is tied to the motherboard even u reinstall fresh Windows 10 and when online it should automatic activate itself.

It is a problem caused by the people sitting at Microsoft desks.
Many people have had that problem.
Either way, you can use Windows just as you used it earlier.
Once a newer update comes, you'd probably not face such a problem.

The license is linked to your account but not your PC's motherboard. In order to solve this problem, you better just buy a cheap RM4.50 Windows 10 license key to activate your Windows 10 without depending on your Microsoft account. This is the only best, cheapest, easiest and fastest way.

I was bought a mini PC from taobao at 2 days ago then bought a Windows 10 Pro key from this seller. Chat with him then wait for his reply after few hours. After I get the key just straight activated. Even after that I get reformat the mini PC again, I did repartition, reformat new drive, then did boot clean install by USB drive. After that, login to Windows with offline account. Everything is fine and just logged in as pre-activated.

I did not change any hardware.. It was activated when I was using this current system.

Your case is quite weird, usually when we activate Windows 10, they key is useless after you done your Windows 10 activation. The activation already registered into your motherboard as long as do not replace new motherboard. It doesn't matter you change new RAM, change new graphics card, change new SSD, change new processor or did not login your Microsoft account. The activation was still there.

What kind of activation key did you use? KMS type or MAK type? I just recommend you to give up the current key and buy a MAK type license key. Just one time activate, no grace period, it is permanent activated. The key is useless after you done activate your Windows 10 because what we need is get your motherboard to bind with Windows 10 activation.

Get the MAK license key for just RM4.50, it is selling dirt cheap.

Guys, i have a RETAIL version of windows 10 (updated from win 8). Are there any simple steps to transfer the windows to a new laptop?

Planning to dispose the old laptop, but abit wasted if the windows key gone just like that.

This is what happens when you update youer windows. Sometimes microsoft can be so mean. It is like they want you to buy windows all over again which I am sure that you do not want to do because you would not be complaining if you did. I have a soultion but you may not like it. Let me tell you what happened in my case. It was not the operating system but my microsoft office that lost its license. I had just got a new hp 15 laptop and i kind of messed up with the audio driver and installed one that was not supported. My computer refused to start. It would say problem detected, try to fix it then start all over again. I had no choice but to reinstall the operatinfg system which meant that all of the prgrams that were not part of the opearating system were eleted including microsoft office. I was not ready to pay for microsoft office all over again as windows wanted so ihad to do something. I downloaed microsoft office 2016 from a certain website and it had a program in in the zip that I used to activate it. The program also activates windows. It is called KMSactivator.exe. Use it to permanately activate your windows.

For the future, turn off all running applications, including antivirus. Updates also

You can do it but just beware if someone might report to BSA. My advise is better don't do this in shop and company. Usually is safe for personal use.

If your company have volume licensing then you know how, normally enterprise will using volume licensing.
Volume Licensing - one key for all.

Microsoft use based on trust, so even you only buy for 200 units but you get activation of at least 2500 times as minimum.
This activation will get increase based on total quantities you purchase.

Those seller is basically illegally selling the valid key from Volume Licensing. Thus it is valid forever unless you get suspect by Microsoft.

Basically volume license is upgrade license, you need to have base license, for example oem original license. This is the proper way and legal way.

Price wise is depends your account level. Different level different price. For example my work company cost each half the price of box set.

You need to check with certified software retailer company, they will assist you, you cannot simply buy at outside shop.

Call to Microsft toll free to activate manually by phone. 100% working. Also free toll is no charging credits and no need to speak with agent, just listen to the system voice. The system will give you a list of activation ID.
