Hi everyone I need advice, I was involved in an accident and the other party was penalized, so I wanted to claim his insurance.

During the reporting of this incident, the police offer me to send to their recommended workshop as it will be faster, however I turned down their offer.

Then they said need 14 days to process my case and generate the result, Until today it is still not done yet and it has been more than 14 days already.

I feel like the police is purposely delaying my result because I did not hand over my car to their recommended workshop to fix.

Anyone here been through this before, can anyone tell me what can be done to speed up the process so can get this over with.

do the police give reason why delay the report release?

Police investigation report is minimum 14 working days. Depending on the pic Sergeant. Quite normal. If you cannot wait, just go see the Sergeant directly. Wonder how you know the report not out? If you were going to the station for the report, why can't you go see the Sergeant directly on the spot?

Get the investigation Sargent phone number and follow up with him. Should be able to get the result after a week.

Obvious case of not using their recommended workshop so they can't get a cut from the proceeds. Corrupt Malaysian law enforcement. Nothing out of the ordinary.

You can just get the panel workshop list from your insurance agent. Give your insurance agent a call. If you don't have his or her number then maybe you can call the insurance customer service hotline.

Go to the panel workshop of your choice. Let them repair the car. Tell them to claim the insurance of the person at fault. They will settle for you. They will go and get the police report and do all the insurance paperwork. Hassle free.

As for the work done, don't expect a good job. All these workshops are also shitty people. All just want to profit. The only consolation is they are on the panel list, so they don't dare to do hanky panky stuff, because they're afraid of being struck off the list and therefore lose tons of business.

You sure you went to the office and they still say not ready? Usually it is done in one week if it's a simple accident.

my report come out on the spot but need to take it next day on office hour since its 7pm...im just lost control my car alone..no third party involve

I also got into accident. Have you filled in the pernohonan for the result ? From there..start count 14 days. Usually the report come out. In my case...I go collect the report...they ask me go speak to the investigation officer.....so waste time again....when I go see him...he ask me my the counter never give...I said I don't know. Then he print and sign and chop the report on the spot.

Sometime I don't understand but I am glad I got my keputusan. Now I will send my car to the workshop

Happened to my sister this year. Accident in kd. They took so long to get the result/report. Keep on delaying. Cause my sister dont want to pay that area punya tow truck. Mau tak mau. Have to pay.

Just sharing my experience.

Was rear ended by another car some years ago, and from the initial investigation findings on the day itself, that driver was found at fault and fined.

Now here's the funny part, while reading out the results, the inspector kept repeating (at least 10 times throughout the 10min talk) that he can help expedite the result release to only 1 day instead of needing to wait for standard 2wks waiting period. I insisted I can wait coz CNY holidays was just round the corner and I do not trust rushed jobs.

In the end I waited slightly over a week before they called to collect the keputusan. And I was also 'required to pay' RM5 by the officer that took my initial statement to have it printed.

Yup purposely one.. sadly but true this is how our farking police do work.

Encounter experience yesterday with minor collison by other car. Was offered fast settlement by the officer if send to her connection workshop. Police not suppossed in cahoot with workshop... conflict of interest. I choose to send to my panel insurance which repair it with original parts not some hanky panky workshop she in connection with repair with subpar parts and charge insurance kaw kaw. She said 14 days come out report.. will see how long can delay.


These kind corrupt practice should stop. Not good for everyone and industry no wonder insurance rate keep increasing every year.

Now pdrm has streamlined and centralised their eksiden reports purchasing process. The report (keputusan kes and even the preliminary report) can only be bought at the IPD of the area (at least true for PJ area).

What you went through was indeed same as mine, but they didn't compel me/you to use that service. You decline politely, say you have already contacted the insurance panel and be done with, nothing corrupt about that IMO.

If the case was clear cut with ample evidences it is the fault of whichever party, keputusan kes will come out within the stipulated time frame i.e. 2weeks from the date of initial report. Mine even got the keputusan slightly earlier, coz I whatsapp-ed the sarjan and she told me result was already out, just go buy at IPD

Thanks for the info and should the police report be free? How much is the report cost? What is the advantage then with the streamline/centralised system to rakyat, at the end still have to wait and pay.

Of course you the smart one will declined politely, you want to offend the sergant? Im sure plenty of newbies will accept such offer thinking its compulsory.

Public service offering private service option especially under table is not corrupt according to your opinion ? Are you seriously blind or someone with vested interest.
