My myvi advance,
2week no start, the car won't crank at all.
Last time the battery last 3 month only.
This time around 6 month
Niko battery,
But this problem start after I install Kenwood ICE
Is it possible ICE cause battery drain?
Also why the car won't crank?
Even immobilize also no power, need use key to open door..

Why didn't you drive your car for the last 2 weeks ?

Was the previous battery from Niko as well ?

Was there a battery test done to as ascertain what is actually causing the problem ?

Would you happen to have GPS system installed together in your Kenwood ICE ?

It is possible for a battery to lose its charge and it doesn't even need 2 weeks !

- i drive other myvi, this myvi at my new house

Was the previous battery from Niko as well ?
- yes, previous battery from niko also, already say to workshop want other good battery, i can pay, they still push this to me...

Was there a battery test done to as ascertain what is actually causing the problem ?
- not yet done any test, planning send to perodua to ask them check, see got mechanical problem or not, not sure is alternator or not cos first time it happen, i send to 3rd party workshop check, it say not alternator problem...

Would you happen to have GPS system installed together in your Kenwood ICE ?
- nope, i not get the GPS add on, only plain kenwood ICE
- i even unplug the dash cam fear it may drain the battery when the car off.

because last time, i can left the car no start for almost 1 month the battery still ok can start the engine, but after use this niko and install kenwood ICE, the battery start dead in few month...

Personally, I would recommend that you alternate the usage of both cars. However if you plan to leave a vehicle unused for more than 3~4 days, it is best to remove the negative terminal.

If you are in Melaka Tengah district, I would love to do a Battery Test on this Niko together testing the car's electrical charging systems for you for free, cause I am interested to know more about Niko. 😊

Was that a Panasonic battery, that could start the car even without using the car for about a month ?

I am curious which year was your Myvi Advanced version produced in ? Thanks.

Could be parasitic drain from some electronic stuff. But hard to say. Some people report their car battery could not hold charge for more than a week. Probably because the battery aged. The 1st gen Myvi i am driving now had its maintenance free battery replaced just last month. The age? 1 year 2 months.  dry.gif Battery cost RM170.

Bro.,

Would you pay for Rm240 to have a proper MF properly prep up for you, which I think should last more than 19 months, thats your break-even mark cause anything more than that is savings already. 😊

We are in dangerous teritory now because for another to claim that the replacement battery was not new but a used battery is fast becoming like a sitting duck. I think that is best avoided cause only you would know for sure what happened when you claimed for warranty.

I remember when I checked on my friend's aunt's battery. It couldn't crank nor could it be jump started and my battery tester couldn't even power up. So what we did was left the jumpers connected for the initial charge on the dead battery. After 15~20 minutes, we swapped out the batteries and the aunt's car roared to life. The presumed "dead battery", amazingly also managed to start my friend's car, immediately the car was taken for a spin to put more juice into the battery. Later we swapped back out the batteries and the resurrected battery managed to start the aunt's car and the battery tester now showed a reading of 250 CCA. Of course my friend's family were happy that they need not fork out for another battery that day, but I am not too sure how long would that resurrected battery last. However we are keeping a close eye on that battery for now.

No worries, mate. If you need assistance before the battery dies, just inform me because time is needed to prep up a new battery. Hopefully your car is light in colour and is parked in the car porch.

I not going to blame service center, just want then help to check the wiring....if they can help la...
I know the blame is on me since the ICE is third party...
Who know the installer last time forgot to connect 1 ~ 2 wire....

I do not think it is now whether they (SC) can help, but rather if they are allowed to do so, without being reprimanded by HQ. It is now a question of liability actually. Hopefully your problem is resolved and good luck.
