if you have a 5 year old daughter.
her rabbit died.
how would you tell her?
a) the rabbit is in a better place
b) the rabbit is just going to sit there and rot.
how would you teach your children with this existential question?
would you lie or tell the truth?
is it better to teach your children to conform or to resist ?

QUOTE(num123 @ Nov 29 2019, 01:44 PM) it is a good occasion to teach your daughter about life, and death and she can learn how to deal with her emotions. kids need guidance. how do you not make death a traumatic event? when i was small (9 years old) i still remember i cannot eat for a few months after the death of my grandpa. the question still haunts me until today.

QUOTE(quebix @ Nov 29 2019, 01:52 PM) i agree. its a good chance. one day she might have to deal with a death of someone dear to her. this is a learning experience. small steps. so how do parents supposed to feed her emotions? if it is all just irrational emotions, then i assume it is also OK to lie and delude oneselves?
