Disclaimer - I have never tried them hence not aware of their quality. I did the barn door on my own.

True ... easier to clean on aluminium and glass. Plus if doing Chinese cooking, the oil and cooking smell might seep into the wood over time.

The only downside is the aluminium sliding mechanism doesn't look nice - very "office" like.
