Assalamualaikum and very good morning to all,

Wanna ask something,

Anyone know any photo's shop(s) that could do services such as :

i) Reprint/copy old pictures ( without film, etc )
ii) Digitalisation of said pictures ( extra, not necessarily )

---

Or anyone know the name of procedure/process for (i)

Super thank you in advance. ( sorry, im photography's illiterate 😅 )

Try asking around the traditional photo shops. Years ago I get them to scan and reprint a 4R picture of my grandfather. They do it less than RM20.

i) they just need a digital copy of said photo, then they're able to print any size you require
ii) you need a scanner, the bigger the photo the bigger the scanner required.

if we're talking about restoring an old photo with missing/damaged parts. That require some time and photoshopping skill of said person.

things to take note on:
1. The price of the scan
2. The price of the preferred size print
3. The price of the editing

Usually scanning will cost you the most depending on the charges of the shop.

You can save there by doing it in with your office or home scanner, unless we're talking about a large portrait nod.gif

make sure to set the scanner to high res setting with large dimensions, max DPI and usually above 1.5MB save size and in .JPEG format not .PDF thumbsup.gif

Do you friends own a All-in-one printer?

Choose non-ink tank printer if can because the ink tank seems fading faster compare to non-refillable ink.

(Brother brand color reproduction a bit out, i tried on canon vs brother before)

Buy photo paper (Mitsubishi brand is good)

Scan at highest resolution then print on photo paper.

But if not much photo or original photo is bigger than A4... Just go to shop.
