looks huge  laugh.gif

what's your wrist size?

I'm at 6" so still kinda in the dilemma whether or not to get a tuna as I still haven't get the chance to try on one on my wrist yet

still in the hunt for a smaller wearable size dive watch to add into the collection
*
my wrist is also rougly around 6 inci laugh.gif but its flat wrist so the watch stays ontop. I think it be suck if you have round bulat wrist laugh.gif

my version of sbbn have fixed non-removable link. so i have to remove the max i can and use the diver extension to fine tune. newer version can remove all the links

Surely it is much more wearable than MM300 laugh.gif

MM300 is not for the fainthearted mini wrist size us

imo humans with 7" only can pull that beast off nicely otherwise looks like a giant clock on the wrist  laugh.gif

Is there any recommendations for legit watchmaker to service 7s26 and change the seal for original monster and skx013

If so how much does it cost since full service.

mco dunno...can try email them and see.
their in-house servicing if not mistaken can do up to 6r movements...

Ah thanks man thumbsup.gif My past experience with them is their CS over the phone and over the counter is not the friendliest of all. But will mellow down if nicely spoken too as in they still do whatever I asked them to do after the initial hoo-hah.

Very china-man company approach but thankfully their workmanship for my quartz watch is still okay (need to visit them to fix my perpetual calander date if got the chance as pain to change using crown). Also, can see they some cool stuff inside the workshop for sure.

Not sure if they have parts (replacement gasket) for Seiko Tuna sbb013 or have to wait parts since its a Japan only model (battery change should be coming soon)

How about Seiko Monster. Realised some of the limited edition is being sold at an absurd value.

monster is ok, small.. but boring...
ya nowadays monsters quite dumb prices... guess that's what happens when newer fans come in who don't mind paying more and then sellers also become delusional think can sell more...

the new seiko i like is the SRPG35...

I still have the original orange monster series, really solid chunk of watch which is totally different feel over the SKX007 series. It is easily wear smaller on my small wrist due to shot lug (my wrist is flat top too) as compared to SKX007 series.

Seeing how Seiko prices these day especially at the lower end really make me rclxub.gif make better sense to top up by going big (higher tier product) or go home empty handed with seiko.

On the bright side at least the monster lineage still strong till today while they chopped off SKX style design and no replacement till today, it is apparent there are some new released under seiko 5 brand does have skx style marker & case design but without the diver rated feature.

Any love for vintage Seikos? Ref: 6218-8000, movements used as base for 62GS in the 1960s. The minimalist design inspired by “Grammar of Design” featuring mirror-like polishing (Zaratsu polishing) on the dials very similar to those in the grand seikos.

Paired with dark brown leather straps for that vintage feel.

Cun stuff you have, just curious how you deal with periodic servicing on these watches? You have your own preferred person to do service on?

Thanks man, I bought this recently off a vintage Seiko dealer in Singapore. They have their own in-house watchmaker which does the servicing and repairing, so I haven’t had much experience with maintenance on these yet. I plan to look for a vintage watchmaker when i get back to KL who has experience with Seikos.

Back to the seller, we spoke a lot about watches and he told me that the good thing about Seiko movements are they are more rustic and not as fine as Swiss made movements, so if there is a need to service, it is easier to source out someone.

Also, don’t quote me on this but he did mention that a lot of the vintage seikos have already lasted decades without any servicing done and usually they will only take it apart when it doesn’t keep time or it’s seen some damage. He’s been in the watch industry for a while now before starting his own store. Apparently what they do is if they’ve serviced the item a year or 2 ago, they’ll just give a warranty/ guarantee on the movement without taking it apart.

I’m still very much learning from the collectors and watchmakers that I meet with. The general consensus is that old watches were manufactured to be tool watches and built to last so people didn’t use to service it often and it never gave them much trouble even then.

Watch collecting is never ending journey where main point is to impress yourself and not other.

I stopped for quite sometime and recently went back into it and got shocked price increased across brands.

Being said, i do have old citizen mechanical chrono that i belive was refurb and I got it via ebay long time ago that was kept for many years and i doubt it will run too.

No way you be able to find legit mechanical chrono at such low price for sure.

actually now also they're still built to last...
just that some cost alot...so most rather baby them...

Also local service support is important too especially with more modern seiko in my opinion to make it last even longer thumbsup.gif

At least I am sure spare parts are aplenty for MM300 since it is in production for so many years under the same base design.

Missing the marinemaster wording though. For me it is like iconic thing about mm300 as well the linkes of tunas too.
