Huge downgrade from the 1060 - you should really aim for something like a RX570/580 instead icon_idea.gif

1650 not worth it, performance cant even surpassed rx570. If you're looking for new cards with warranty, 1650 super is around rm750, performance on par with 1060. Or can get used rx570/580 for less

GTX 1650 super is closer to GTX1060, I think... Or you could source one used? Should have plenty of previous mining cards.

Just buy this RX 580 - https://shopee.com.my/SAPPHIRE-Pulse-Radeon...0569.2804949127

Remove your current Nvidia GPU. Uninstall all Nvidia drivers using DDU. Then install new GPU and the latest AMD driver. Kaotim.

Your CPU is fine. You just need a better GPU.

My i5-3xxx something around 3Ghz + GTX970.

Bought Resident Evil 2 remake yesterday (Steam sale: RM 49 or so). Run at 60fps@1080p no issue in DX12.

1. What games you wanna play?
2. Budget to upgrade?

Like someone mention:

1. GPU upgrade
2. CPU upgrade
3. RAM

650 is pretty dated smile.gif

Assuming u r not upgrading mobo, cpu, ram, ssd
Assuming u r talking about 1080p 60Hz
Assuming u r talking about high, ultra settings
Assuming u r looking for new gpu

1650s, 1660, 1660s, 1660ti are probably best bet for you
just make sure your psu has the juice

Update: upgraded gtx 1060 as suggested by most forumers here, thinking to get i7 4790 or 8gb ram next, which first?

Existing:
CPU
i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10 GHz 3.10GHz

Ram
8gb Installed

This is going to be a bit tricky...

Depending on the type of games you play, going to i7-4790 may not help as much. And even if it does increase FPS by 5-10% for now, you will soon feel the limits of your system.
Why don't you check when running games if your current rig pushed the i5-4440 to the max? If that is the case then the i7-4790 would help to extend the gaming life of your rig.

Otherwise, I would suggest that you forget about getting CPU/RAM upgrade and save up for whole rig upgrade instead. It is time to change (more than 5 years). You can also upgrade to windows 10 and get direct X12 for some performance boost in certain games. And of course, having NVMe SSD also helps.

Be patient, lower some settings as needed, and upgrade the rest of the system one go. Another 6-8 months will bring more tech improvements and more value for your money. Even if not getting the latest Ryzen 4000 series, the 3000 series is very good value right now and will be even better when prices come down a bit. So save up and get decent RAM to go with the platform upgrade, as fast RAM (3200-3600MHz) does cost quite a bit more than your DDR4-2400/2666.
