I’m here seeking for those who are the owners of recon Toyota Vellfire or Alphard 2015-2016 model with 2.5 engine. How much does it cost for the normal 1yr/13k mileage maintenance? Fuel economy? Any problem with the engine and transmission? Reliability?
Or What you have experienced so far from owning these 2 car?. I quite like the Vellfire 2015 model and I’m here for listening your feedback about the reliability and maintenance cost.
Hope you guys and share it to me smile.gif

You are asking a very subjective question. But for your reference, RM5k a year will be enough, excluding tires and paint ceramic coating.

Recon , just do basic service at outside service Center, I believe now a day dealer will give warranty min 1 yr to 4 yrs so within the period just send back to the panel workshop and do service . Normally vellfire or Alphard one fuel tank can drive up to 400km.

What car are you currently driving? Because if you're driving a sedan / hatchback you'll be shocked by the FC. Expect 6-7km/l fuel consumption for mixed driving, meaning 60l / RM125 of petrol about 360-400km which is quite thirsty due to its poor aerodynamic and high kerb weight

Not sure on the exact details, I was told it is gearbox issues which happen when they want to travel back to Seremban for CNY, end up having to drive the other car back. and should be quite major as the car ended up in workshop for a month.

I normally don't respond to stupid remarks outside of kopitiam but I do make an exception once in a while.

Asking isn't the same as worrying.
Only idiots buy cars without knowing FC and maintenance cost.

recently just bought a 2018 2.5L FL recon vellfire, maintenance is relatively cheap. First service only rm500+, I got 3 years warranty from Smart Warranty so have to go to their panel workshop. It could be cheaper if you use your own workshop.

I joined the vellfire/alphard fb group. Alot of them that got gearbox problem is the torque converter problem which normally exist in 2015 and 2016 year made car. Best is get 2017 onwards. Save you alot of troubles. If you need me to recommend my recon dealer, can send me a pm. I surveyed for 2-3 months before pulling the trigger, quite happy with my dealer cuz his price and service.
