There is a reason US treasury bond rates are increasing! And remember to factor in future depreciation of the US$. Most commentators are predicting RM4.1 to the $ by the end of this year. That's an almost 5% loss straight away if you exchange RM to buy $.

Provided your time horizon is more than 4 years, I tend to agree. But anything could happen in the next 4 years.

I always use my PC and that seems to work well.

Less than 4 weeks until ASB3 declares its dividend - which will be a good indicator of what we can expect for ASM2/3.

I am hoping for/expecting 5.5% for ASB3 and 5.0% for ASM2/3.

If the max allowed holding is 300k, then your fund can go above 300k due to dividend being credited to the fund. Not only that, if you withdraw money from the fund and then try to reinvest, you can reinvest to the high water mark of the fund (plus any additional dividends credited to the fund) and not be restricted by the 300k limit.

An example.

Your fund value is initially at its 300k limit.

6% dividend raises the fund balance to 318k

You immediately withdraw 50k. Fund balance is now 268k.

You do nothing with your fund for another year when a 5% dividend is credited to the fund. New balance is 268k + 13.4k = 281.4k.

You now wish to reinvest as much as possible into the fund but how much is that? The answer will be found in the app when you click on the fund details but, from experience, you will be able to reinvest the full 50k (that you initially withdrew) to take the balance to 331.4k.

Just remember that returns on ASM/ASM2/ASM3 are reliable but they are not Fixed. You can expect something in the 4.5% to 5.5% range for the next few years I think.

ASB3 dividend to be declared at the end of June, which is next Monday. Friday is a public holiday so hopefully we will get the news on Thursday.

So, it looks like ASB3 dividend will be announced on Monday I guess.

Slightly disappointing but not surprising.

ASM2/3 5% if we are lucky. 4.75% if we are not.

If those numbers are correct then it looks like a fund performance of 6.6% based on Net Income as a % of units in circulation. It does then beg the question of why the dividend was restricted to 5.25%.

In absolute terms, I agree but I look at year on year performance which is now flat.

I would like to see an improvement in ASM2/3 dividends - even if it is only to 4.85% or thereabouts.

With OPR now at 2.75% I think 4.75% (same as last year) is realistically what we can hope for/expect from ASM2/3 at the end of Aug/Sep.

There is almost an air of desperation from ASNB to attract new investment imho. I find this to be quite concerning.

I agree there is no shortage of demand but what I find interesting is the persistent 'need' for ASNB to continually attract new investment/investors. I may be overthinking it a little.

Agreed. My hope for 5% is based on the shock value of the tariffs dissipating and Trump backing off on their implementation - which he has just done again today with China.

Anything above 4.75% would have to regarded as acceptable I think but I am still hopeful of 5%.

So, when do we think ASM2 will declare the dividend? It seems to me that it has to be either tomorrow or Friday.

So, with Monday being a public holiday, I wonder when the announcement will be made?
