compare with other vehicle, yes mazda 6 is D segment car and will be difficult to park for side parking area. shopping mall carpark will be easier.

65years old or not i think depends on the driver experience. If he normally drives a D segment car should be fine.

My neighbour is an old doctor.
When I was young, he had a Volvo 240, he always managed to do reverse side parking at 1 go. Now he drives a Benz E300, he still park like a pro.

If used to driving long vehicle > 4,800mm, no issue regardless what age. But if switch from smaller B segment cars like Vios / City, takes just a little readjustment but if coming from Myvi / Axia / Jazz kind of car, it will be challenging to gauge the front and rear of the car.

It's depending on the driving skill.

It depends on a few factors.

1. what cars he has owned before and what car he is presently driving.

2. how big the parking space is - most of our car park slots are too small for modern C/D segment cars, coupled with others who don't park properly.

3. his parking skill. I'm sure we have all seen how certain small car drivers struggle to park inside a huge slot.

In general, if that is a concern, it's best to avoid buying sedans altogether. There are bound to be occasions where he has to struggle with the size.

old buildings might be a problem as the normal parking lot size is small
plus lots of ppl are using SUVs nowadays so everything becomes more narrow.

1 thing to note is the A pillar size is bigger compare to toyota n honda.. might create more blind spot.

Just becareful if you are sandwiched by two SUV/pickup truck as you might scratch your car against their bumper, side step, or fender bar. In this case their SUV/pickup truck will not hurt much but your side will be badly scratched.

Another tips, always reversed in for parking, you can see reverse camera to park easily. If front going in first, you only rely on the front sensor for beeping sound only which is not as accurate as reverse camera. For me, no issue.

very big, 65 old man better get something compact, less blind spot and less straining for the driver also. i think at that age it is time to think of comfort rather than making a statement.
