QUOTE(guest54321 @ Nov 15 2019, 11:11 PM) I'm using a second router to connect to my main router to create a new wireless SSID. Here's my current setup: First router/main router - TM212RG provided by Unifi and connected to Internet. LAN IP address is set as 10.x.x.254. We are assigned 5 Public IP addresses: 115.x.x.x. And the WAN ip address for this router is 115.x.x.193. DHCP range is set from 10.x.x.200 - 10.x.x.250. If I connect to the SSID from this router, the DHCP works fine. Second router - Model is Asus RT-n12hp using Wireless Router mode. LAN IP address is set as 10.x.x.253. Router plugged into the LAN1 port of first router. DHCP service here is already disabled. But when I connect my laptop to this SSID, SOMETIMES I get a local IP address of 115.x.x.x(which is our public IP) instead of 10.x.x.2xx. If I go to my laptop's wireless settings, it is showing 115.x.x.193 as the default gateway instead of 10.x.x.254. Why is this so? I have already tried resetting the router to factory settings. If I’m not wrong I think the Asus router has AP mode. For your usage I think better set to that mode. Also remember to set the the ip of your main router as the gateway in the Asus router.

I have switched it to AP mode. And also set the gateway ip to the main router's ip. Still the same.
Once I'm connected on my laptop, I can see
IPv4 Address: 115.x.x.194 (one of our public IPs) IPv4 default gateway: 115.x.x.193 (main router's WAN ip) IPv4 DHCP server: 10.x.x.254 (main router's LAN ip) IPv4 DNS server: 10.x.x.254 (main router's LAN ip)

I assume you connect your Asus RT-n12hp (LAN1 port) to your TM212RG (LAN1 port).
