I've been using YouTube Music Premium since it launched officially in Malaysia last week. Initially, I was using Spotify back to back with YouTube Music, but went to YouTube Music exclusively by 2nd or 3rd day.
Anyone have plan that they wants to share like family plan?

My takes on YouTube Music Premium (I'm using 1 month free trial offered)

- Song Catalog and avaiable artist:
I can say on par with Spotify but Apple Music has bigger database, but Youtube Music has song from fan with thier cover as well. Also, there is many songs that is not officially launched by artist thru thier official album but you can get access to it.

- Local Artist avaiability:
Good, on par with Spotify and Apple Music.

- App:
Simple but functional, have cast function. BUT dont have desktop app or web version (except Youtube Video i guess), this is a con for me cos I'm always using Desktop Spotify App during @ work during office hour.

- Music Quality:
Good enought for normal user. Highest qulity avaiable is at 'High' @ 256kbps AAC. not on par with Spotify @ (320kbps).

- Downloads:
No limit to download offline song (till ur phone memory full)

- Free version?
You do have, but with ads and will not having 'background play' (Basically screen must be on all the time during playback)

- Price:
YouTube Music – RM14.90 single/RM22.90 family (6 users)
Spotify– RM14.90 single/RM22.90 family (6 users)
Apple Music – RM14.90 single/RM22.90 family (6 users)/RM6.90 student

Is it worth it? I do think yes.

For my experience using Spotify for few years now, Spotify took a long time to configure my song taste and playlist (Daily Mix) to my liking.

BUT YouTube Music just take only one day to create a mix that have all my favourite song (even the one that i've heared before long time ago). The Google algorithm is so good that I've migrate from Spotify to YouTube Music now (might be cos I shared to much personal data to gugel).

So, If anyone wants to start a family plan sharing for YouTube Music, I'm interested to join by end of this month (waiting for my free 1 month trial to finish 1st)

youtube premium is for music only? no ads free for youtube entertainment show or other videos?

Not YouTube Premium, but YouTube Music Premium. It's totally different app but might be sharing same database.

Having used both spotify and apple music, i would say apple music has better local content compare to spotify. Is youtube even better?

Youtube Music have lots of good playlist?

I guess i just stick to apple music. I migrated from spotify to apple due to local content. Spotify isn’t interested to serve people of my age.

How we gonna "family" it when we all have individual accounts?

And if they link our accounts together as a family, then do I end up mixing my Google One with yours?

It's the same SOP with Spotify which using same address (for family). Other members need to have google account only and invitation is by leader (min family manager) invitation.

at least we can choose whether to be kiamsiap peasant or tuhao with android lol

But back to topic, gonna try and see if can play all of the music I have in my YT playlist, maybe that would be the one thing YT Music has as an advantage compared to others
