Nope. Malaysia only sells Apple Care not "plus". The only thing with "plus" is you get coverage for accidental damage to screen etc. But only limited to 2 times. And for each time, you have to pay a small fee. For example if break your screen, they will replace it for you for RM400 if you have Apple Care+ vs almost RM2k (not sure the price) if you ask apple to change it for you. I would buy Apple Care+ for phone. But MB maybe less change of drop right?

When I am at home, I dun use case. If I need to bring my MBP out, i will put on the Moshi case, so far so good, the condition is still pristine. Mine is 2017 model.

i think the Applecare for MBP is worth it considering it is more expensive than iphone.

Just saw this post. Lucky you! I suggest you send it in for repair when you are travelling to one of the countries which support Apple Care+. Singapore or HK maybe. When I sent mine to Malaysian agent, they had to check with Apple and the process is a bit long. Firstly even told me that it was not covered.

Let us know what happens when you send it in, especially how much they charge. I am interested to know also. Although I hope I never have to deal with a cracked screen.

You are not protected under Malaysian Consumer Law if you purchase a US model. However, you will be covered by the Apple Warranty. Previously I bought a 15 inch MacBook Pro that was repaired few times for the keyboard issues in one year and under the consumer law, I got a full refund on my previous purchase and use the fund to purchase the new 16 inch. So... depends on you I guess.

Yes I would totally get a US model if I wasn't going to configure mine. Mine comes with 32GB RAM and 8GB VRAM haha.

Bro, just wondering. For Apple Care+, do you have to register it within 90 days from the purchase date, similar to the regular Apple Care?

The usual Malaysian feeling of entitlement "I bought something expensive so therefore I am deserving of special treatment" needs to end.

This particular computer has a very niche market so I'd imagine not many retailers would have much inventory - a one-to-one exchange hardly seems a practical expectation.

I would hesitate to infer that this is a problematic machine though. Mine has been problem free since purchase. What this does make very clear is there is little advantage to buying from a brick-and-mortar shop as if you have any problems (again, this is quite rare) they would still direct you to an online resolution of the problem from Apple.
