Pop Quiz time...

Can you remember what this port is called? *hint* it starts with Mini...

If you're Gen Z, you'd possibly have never had the pleasure to use this ancient one..

If you've owned a digital camera(looking at you Sony), you would have enjoyed the long hours you've spent transferring all that vacation photos.

Ok boomer?

Imagine 10 years from now we'd all be wondering how in Dodo's name did we have such archaic technology around?

Just like when the previous generation transitioned from VCR tapes to DVD, a lot of data is still stored in compact discs. With slimmer and tinier computers than my waistline the days of CD/DVD will soon be numbered.

So I've decided it may be worthwhile to review a CD burner.

The Ugreen External Optical USB 2.0 DVD Burner came neatly packaged

Loving the matte finish on this one. Felt light but not flimsy.

Nothing much to shout about the front view except for the infamous DVD logo. Very very minimal.

Verdict?

It's tough being a reviewer in Lyn sekarang. Views doesn't guarantee more products to review la you know?. Added to that barely anyone comments on the post anymore making someone like me wonder whats the point of it all? But then I remember whenever I had to research about an item online its always some mat-salleh or some Youtuber reviewing them in Hindi. Chances are you have to take that chance and hope the item does what it says it does.

So I'd like to think that I am making a difference by helping fellow Malaysians make informed decision before buying this DVD burner from 11.11 Mega Offer by Lazada or the free shipping people at Shopee.

The DVD Burner works flawlessly btw.

This is what came in the box. Ugreen even shipped an empty CD so you don't have to go around finding one.

Comment away, I dare you.

Yours,
A very-average reviewer.

I feel in the years to come this technology will soon be archaic. At least from an end user POV.

Mini USB actually is still quite prominent in dashcam market even in 2019.

I find the USB B printer head more nuisance than this.

Yes. Most China dashcam manufacturers are still using mini USB in their products but can see newer model dashcams now all using micro USB instead as the cables are slimmer than those on mini USB.

What’s more interesting is Ugreen actually bothered to make such a niche usage cable in 2019, kudos to them.

I think it's more to do with supply and demand.

There's not many vendors who manufactures them these days
