Just went to LY and all the plan is ready for registeration. You must have citibank....a few other bank credit card. Approval will be 1 weeks and hp would contact you and send laptop or handphone to you. I am also very tempted. By the way any idea of the hp handphone good or not? I plan to get the RM99/ month data plan with free handphone and only 12 months contract and payment. Digi is nice . For those who intend to buy laptop it is a good deal. Some photos here.

HP 520 retail price is RM2599.

eh? 2day oredy on ya? wah seh..wat a missed...  laugh.gif

eh..the Rm149 seem attractive to me.. wow..2molo gotta go down take a look!!  rclxm9.gif
rclxub.gif Y tmnut is 100mbps? they r using copper, max 2Mbps ATM. But then, their packets manage quality & the worst DNS really suck all the time. E.g, u sign up 2Mbps, most of the time u will get below 1Mbps service quality.

This is y I anti tmnut.

EDGE isn't slow, just m'sia EDGE technology din't fully utilize it. wink.gif
*
Streamyx can achieve about 800 kbps for 1mbps plan ( where u get the 100 mbps ? ) As for digi edge you can only get 200+ kbps ( with proper tcp setting ) for 384 kbps plan. So the difference in download speed is about 4 times slower only compared to streamyx. You can only surf and listen to internet radio with edge but not online streaming video like ppstream.

And again to correct the previous post, the reduced access fee is waived for 24 months and reduced for life. Evidence below:-

Most foreign banks credit okie except CIMB, Affin and etc.

So you pay 161.5 x 24 = RM 3876
The laptop is RM 2599
The hp handphone is RM 999
The RM 50 x 6 months = RM 300
So the difference is RM 3876 - RM 2599 - RM 999 - RM 300 = (RM 22) and you enjoy free data plan for two years and free premier plan access fee.

Any way Digi has always be the pace setter for mobile market in this country for now. ( dun know still the same after they lose their majority ownership to local/bumiputera ) We can anticipate to see more and more FREE AND NICE HANDPHONE bundled with 1 or 2 years contract plan coming out of the market. It is only natural as the mobile market mature and the difference between prepaid and postpaid diminish, and the monthly expenditure for prepaid user catching up with post paid user.

But if you need a laptop and at the need time require internet service, it is not a bad idea as you dun have to pay the whole amount but by installment smile.gif edge is still not idea and that is why i only commit for 12 months and get a free hp hand phone .

If you need a internet service and want to have a new phone or laptop...installment and interest free why not ? laugh.gif

And so i have to apologize as i made a mistake earlier. For HP phone you have to pay RM 124/month for 12 months which is RM 1488:) What you get in return is a HP ipaq 512 worth RM 999, 6 months RM 50 free air time, 12 months waive access fee, 12 waive unlimited data plan, so let us calculate how much you save..
RM 1488 - RM999 - RM 300 - RM 1188 - RM 240 = -RM 1239

this promotion is worth for money if the person is always travel with notebook and also without "Streamyx". but this is real scenario.....

I sign up this package @ lowyat last month and the sales person (wearing DIGI T-shirt) told me within 2 weeks i will get my stuff but the true is i only get the stuff today after complain to DIGI & HP for so many time...

HP say is because of Digi late submission that's why they were late but apparently my friend (HP Call Centre friend) told me is because the HP Smart phone is out of stock. HP need to courier from Singapore to Malaysia and this also take 2 weeks.  rclxub.gif
What a big organization can have this kind of service and KPI? This is not the worse, the worse thing is you don't know who to complaint or who to seek for help when it comes to problem. I write in to HP, no response, i call Digi, Digi say call HP. Then fed up, i call the sales person but he say out of his control, he ask to call HP. vmad.gif  mad.gif ..

then my Credit card limit block for something i dun have in hand....luckily i manage to get the stuff today, but DIgi GPRS unable to set up due to Digi dun have the configuration for that smart phone...What a Smart Promotion?

My colleague also the same but she even worse until now also havent get the PC.....

DIGI & HP need to plan well their Marketing Plan. Dun bullshit and say i dunno.

BTW, That 512MB is not enuf to run the notebook, recommend to upgrade, sure HP will call u to upsell the upgrade....

Well dun be angry and i am glad that you finally got your laptop and hp. Well as i mention earlier, it probably takes more than 2 weeks. In this country, when you buy something or sign up for something, dun expect the service to come to you as promised. It will always late. so, for me i just sign up on Sunday, i am not in a hurry to get my hp ( i sign up for hp plan not laptop ) and i will only call them may be 3 weeks later. If you deal with government agencies in this country, you will know what i mean. Some time to find a file would take you half a year! That is the spirit of Malaysia! Boleh !

About Edge setting, you can try manual setting as follow:-
APN = diginet
Userid = guest
password = guest

Hope you like your hp ipaq 512 and let us know how you like it or other wise. I read some where, there is heat problem. Is it true ?
