QUOTE(ape @ Aug 1 2007, 12:26 PM) What i get is ard 200kbs, but it is not consistent. Sometimes the connection will stop for a while. class 10 max is 238kbps, also depend on the device's slot, 4(DL)/1(UL) or 3/2Hv u compared class 10 and 32, whether got any difference? while class 32 (still very rare gadget on market) can hit 29x kbps, its utilize 6 slots thus can hit up higher speed. 200 Kbps is 24.41 kB/s i think its good enuf for sufing & download. not consistent is expected. QUOTE(ape @ Aug 2 2007, 04:53 PM) Wow, got a lot of difference!!!! huh? something wrong with the configuration izit?? I used iPAQ 6828 to connect via usb, the download speed oso terrible. It takes more than 1 min to finish a 200k attachment. I plan to buy a SE hp to replace this hp, anyone use se phone to connect b4? I tried on WM6 on Asus P725 which come with "Internet Sharing" program, its very fast.. (that on 3G I plug my SE phone use only GPRS also won't that slow QUOTE(ankw @ Aug 2 2007, 05:47 PM) is it well verse to get the package? Celcom/Maxis does limit the monthly data packet size limitation not exceed 3GB, this main reason good enough can't beat Digi. But i see the hp notebook specs quite low at Rm2550 for dual core processor 1.6ghz. but with that kind of money u can get a dual core2 processor/santa rosa processor why go for outdated processor or even higher specs. Dell have come out with new model around Rm2000++ with highend processor /ram. Alot of hidden cost to upgrade to hp notebook like Ram,waranty etc the savings is only on the data card edge rm99 every month for 2 years but celcom just launch the gprs/3g unlimited package at only Rm68 per month or daily activate data usage at rm8 perday 24hrs. Even cheaper if ask those people who have register Digi postpaid and is using the data card can also sub data card at only rm33 unlimited usage permonth. Using data 3g/gprs/edge card is only for people on the move. if u intend to use it on yr notebook to download for 24hrs/365days not recommended bcos notebook will get over heated very fast and the speed is quite slow. The life span of the notebook is low compare the pc. Better go for streamyx. that u can on 24hrs/365days download day and night. thats is worth while. it depends on yr how u use it. Dell?! their pricing AD always exclude delivery charge(Rm2xx). Does this mean hidden charge? No offense, u sound more like promote tm/cecom product here |

QUOTE(brierot @ Aug 6 2007, 05:22 PM) I just received mine last week. I signed on for the initial promo at Low Yat on 7 June. Can see my experience in 1 of the forum here. My equipment came from Singapore's HP warehouse. 14 days is very subjective as I learnt from my experience. See details HERE. I can see some of u plan sell the notebook off... Am thinking of selling my notebook as I don't really need it. Still happy with my current one. Any buyer who offers a reasonable price, I can consider. |

Alvin & cy97..no offense..
IMO, RM2500(nb) + RM899(hp) + RM300(1st 6 months voice) + Rm480(24 months access fee waived) + Rm2376(24 months edge/gprs unlimited waived) = Rm6555. (hope my calculation din't miss out anything While the package = Rm3876..(Rm161.50 by 24 months) Take a simplest calculation minus off the NB & HP price, Rm3876 - Rm3399 = Rm477, devided by 24 months, the 24 months EDGE/GPRS unlimited access is Rm19.875 monthly.. what do you expect wor.. yet its mobile at anywhere, so average 20+ or more KB/s isn't enough?! ya don't forget u still can use airzed wifi for free which contract btw Digi & airzed. Compare to maxis/celcom, Digi is "real" unlimited which no 3GB quota limitation there, this is the most beauty part I like. Ya, even the NB & HP spec might not suit to your individual expectation but who care? u can sell it off, get the cash top up some go buy your most wanted model For me, I 1000% anti tmnut, yet my always No.1 ISP Jaring services not reach my area(too bad)..haigh.. Just now been to Digi SC check about the promotion...They provide a demo set which Compaq Presario with Sony Ericsson data card for EDGE. According to Digi CS, many customers more prefer on Package Awesome which Rm149 months.
I been spent 30 mins stand there for browse around for testing purpose.. 5 tests on www.speed.jaring.my , result was 152, 157, 128, 121 & 87kbps for DL, average is 129kbps (approx 16KB/s). But of course, in real life we do not base on these figures for web accessing every single minutes while my office leased line 1Mbps s=(share with few hundred users) about 508kbps.. [attachmentid=274756] if base on this comparison its about almost 4 times slower than broadband. But then, on real life test, I found EDGE is slower (than the 4 times) on loading macromedia flash player.. I would say Digi EDGE connection is quite competitive to old day ISDN 128kbps. hell ya, forgot to emphasize, my Jaring is 1000kbps (1Mbps) where digi edge is 238kbps. (both on MAX) This post has been edited by iRonTech: Aug 8 2007, 03:24 PM |

QUOTE(TuanKing @ Aug 10 2007, 04:33 PM) then should be tiny portion QUOTE Hey! I'm accessing my office Web server via DiGi EDGE right now and I post "thundersized" digital pictures into our server via FTP and I'm happy so far with between 127 and 222Kbps download and about 111Kbps upload trough my Nokia 6230i but downloading a 640MB Linux CD image would take over 12 hours, which is when I wish I had 3G. EDGE is also highly assymetrical - ie 414.4Kbps download/59.2Kbps uploade which is unsuitable for video calls which ideally requires equal upload and download speeds for smooth video. I found the performance about the same as EDGE (hell..ya, performance, not speed ok?) as it up & down.. is that wireless nature?! Speed wise..btw 71 - 408kbps for DL. its almost same slow when i try access maxis.com.my/3g (let it load the flash..) I think..most probably i gonna apply the Digi Rm124 package |
