Was doing some research about caregiver vs maid. Anyone has a good source about it?
Saw one explanation from a caregiver service, but I want to know more about it.
Here is what I found now:
Caregiver:
1. Professionally trained to know how to handle people, be it the elderly, or patients with specialized needs
2. Assigned to the elderly / patient based on experience and skillset
3. Prepares basic meals only for the patient or the elderly based on the requirements
4. Assists in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, bathing, dressing, feeding etc.
5. Medication management & dispensing
6. Provides companionship
7. Ensures the surrounding of the elderly / patient is kept hygienic and neat
Maid
1. Has no professional training with regards to caregiving. Mainly focuses on keeping the household tidy and in order
2. May have some basic experience handling an elderly or ill person, but are untrained to handle them.
3. Prepares meals for the whole family unit
4. Focuses on home cleanliness. May assist the family members from time to time with the basics (eg. feeding)
5. Dispenses medication
6. Provides companionship if trained to communicate and understand the language
7. Cleans the entire home (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.)
What is the different between Caregiver VS Maid?
