Hi guys, I've been using an UNIFI Advance Plus (50Mbps) plan since 2017 paying RM189.75. I wanted to change my plan to the latest 100Mbps plan and pay less, but then someone told me about the Turbo Upgrade thing. Shouldn't I have been upgraded from 50 to 500Mbps, unless I'm missing something?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 30 2020, 02:56 PM) Is your infra ready for 500Mbps? Otherwise just change to RM 129 for 100Mbps, still cheaper than your current package. I live in a condominium which was done building in 2006 and was fibre ready at the time. Bandar Utama area.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 30 2020, 03:14 PM) That's strange. If it is just VDSL, max only 50Mbps. Does that mean my condo doesn't have fibre? Because when we first moved in TIME also was quite aggressive pushing fibre on us.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 30 2020, 03:22 PM) For TM probably no, else it will be auto upgraded. Just change to TIME, abandon UniFi. is TIME more stable than UniFI? Or same?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 30 2020, 03:42 PM) Not much complaint I guess, you can refer to TIME thread. Cheaper and faster. I also switched my friend's UniFi 50Mbps RM 179 to TIME since cannot go beyond 50Mbps due to VDSL, now paying RM 139 for 500Mbps. She is happy with this change. Alright thank you for your advice!

QUOTE(lukemanz @ Jan 30 2020, 08:56 PM) You should check whether your condo is fiber or VDSL If fiber, you should claim that 500Mbps Turbo from TM and clawback rebates from Jan2019 until Jan2020 I'm currently on VDSL, but fiber is also an option just have to drag the fiber from the box outside the unit. Asked UniFi but they said "still checking coverage" for the Turbo Upgrade. My fam isn't keen on dragging wires around so I'm planning to check whether VDSL2 is supported if I wanted to get the 100Mbps plan. EDIT: But just asked them, and said to get 100Mbps I need to switch to fiber haiz...so for me to pay less I need drag wires across the house.
