All the above lol, streaming 4k content is also my main priority so 100mbps package will not do it for me.

Minimum 4K streaming is 25 Mbps D/L as Netflix recommends. But of course, we need to take into account total/average bandwidth usage for the whole household.

They are really TM telemarketers

I think TM contracts their telemarketers from VADS Berhad (a TM company). https://www.jobstreet.com.my/en/companies/6...-berhad/reviews

Hi. I'm unifi home user which is previously my package 300mb turbo rm147.00.. now they said discount rm70 already ended. so the price back to rm200++.. does anybody the same as me here??
*
There are two Turbo Upgrade offers if I am not mistaken.

First the original Free Turbo Upgrade 2018 campaign. Something like a 10x speed boost without a change in the original package price (free!). For example, those with a 10Mbps package previously would get a 100 Mbps Turbo Upgrade 2018 package upgrade. Except for 100 Mbps package users previously, they would only get an 800Mbps Turbo Upgrade 2018 package upgrade (instead of 1 Gbps speed). They would/still pay the price of the previous package (plus discounts they get for their package). These Turbo Upgrade 2018 package users would notice the "Turbo Upgrade 2018" title name for their package in their online Unifi Dashboard page or in their bill slip. It would state extra info on the Unifi dashboard:

Promo Discount Perpetual
Promo Discount RMXXX

The second one is the Unifi Bonanza Campaign which I don't remember what year it was introduced (I believe late 2018 since many of its package users now get a bill shock this year). Yes, Unifi users who subscribed to this campaign would get the 10x speed upgrade but the only difference is their promo discount. It is now 24 months contract. Their packages have the "Unifi Bonanza" name in the Unifi Dashboard (if I am not mistaken, please correct me) and extra info below:

Promo Discount 24 Months
Promo Discount RMXXX

The first campaign was offered during the time when Unifi still didn't reveal its official 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, and 800 Mbps package and pricing yet to the public. It happened during the Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing (MSAP) initiative of Gobind Singh as the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, under the Pakatan Harapan government.

The second campaign was offered when Unifi had revealed the 300 Mbps package and pricing. But, not yet for 500 Mbps and 800 Mbps. The latter packages were officially offered in the mid-year 2020 and they have Unifi Mobile and Unifi Mesh Wi-Fi.

Unless stated otherwise, if it says "Promo Discount Perpetual", it means the promo discount you get will be forever included in your package bill until you terminate or change to another package plan.

For those packages that state "Promo Discount 24 Months", they will enjoy the given discount within 24 months. It will revert to the original package price of "that time" or minus the given discount after the 24-month contract ends.

Those Unifi users using packages that state the "Promo Discount Perpetual" will get occasional calls from the TM Telemarketers enticing them with new offers (like Unifi Mobile, Mesh Wi-Fi, etc.). But, once you agree to these new offers, you will no longer enjoy your perpetual discount. It is considered that you have subscribed to a new 24-month plan, new pricing, and a new discount. Correct me if I am wrong.

My Unifi promo is over and I wrote to Unifi. Below are their proposed packages for the same speed.

RM199.00 (bundle with unifiTV pack (ultimate )+ unifi plus box)
- RM199.00 (bundle with unifiTV pack (ultimate) + mesh wifi)
- RM189.00 (bundle with unifiTV pack + unifi plus box)
- RM189.00 (bundle with unifiTV pack + mesh wifi)

May I know what is the difference of Unifi plus box and mesh WiFi? Which one is better?

Thanks!

You need to ask for the official package price without any discount. You will be discounted for 24 months from that package price. Unless you ask for a perpetual discount (possible if you are a loyal Unifi user).

I still prefer buying my own better Mesh Wi-Fi solution. It is better than being "included" in the package price. You still need to pay monthly for Unifi Mesh Wi-Fi for 24 months though; the same with the Unifi Plus Box.

For Unifi TV package, you can't escape!

It's funny to see an ISP's billing so complicating that even their subscribers have to compare monthly bill statements among each other just to see who gets a better deal.

What a joke!

Why do our country allows this kind of selective and preferential policies?
*
I agree with you on your first paragraph. At least, TM Unifi is still being honest by telling users about pricing details like promo discounts and such. I wonder what will happen if they don't reveal these details?

But, I don't quite agree with your last paragraph. But, I respect your opinion. Our country is adopting a capitalist economy and it promotes competition as long as the companies follow the set rules. I only don't like the current monopoly on infra and such though. However, companies like TM and TNB are actually our government tools to control the economy hence the monopoly and policies.

Hi guys. I'm currently on streamyx paying RM69. Recently a TM agent came and said that my housing area already has unifi and asked me to upgrade to unifi. He asked me to select any of the existing unifi packages available Currently. What I need to know is that, is it possible to continue paying RM69 but get upgraded to unifi? Or must I upgrade my package to unifi package and then only they'll upgrade me to unifi. Also. If I reject their offer and stay on streamyx, what will happen? cause they did say that streamyx will be phased out soon. Thanks in advance
*
Not possible. Streamyx and Unifi packages are totally different plans and pricing for users and a different investment cost on the TM side. What is important to know is that how many Unifi ports are currently available before being snapped as time goes.

My account still has the perpetual discount after getting the mesh wifi (Deco M9) from TM. The only difference is TM added 'Device/Service 1' under 'Residential High Speed Internet' on the unifi user dashboard.
Their telemarketers didn't call me, I was the one who called to get the mesh wifi xD
*
So, you are just applying for the Mesh Wi-Fi separately as an add-on but still maintains the same package plan, so I guess it doesn't affect the perpetual discount. Now, you only pay monthly for 24 months for that add-on in your bill, am I right?
