Hi guys. Planning to buy a 20m Ethernet cable.
1. Does brand matter for Ethernet cable?
2. Is the flat version worse or just the same as thE normal rounded one?

Thanks.

Yes, brand matter, and no, it is the same. Get a good brand. I recommend Dintek.

I just bought Cat 7 cable with gold plated RJ45 connector from Shopee. So far I managed to get 70% of the rated speed of 300Mbps. IPTV also no lag. Costs me about RM60 for 15m, bought from local vendor. You can get half of the price if buy from China, braided flat cable. Flat or round cable doesn't matter. As long as it is durable and can run along the conduit (25mm or bigger).

70% is really weird. Isn't LAN cable supposed to give 100%of the speed?

That’s not good. Dintek Cat5e gives me 100% of my 800Mbps. How are you testing? Either the cable is really bad or you’re testing it incorrectly.

You can try Ugreen if you want, but 20m Dintek cables are available on Shopee?

Why the insistence of flat though? Normal cables work as well.

Need to route into room and hopefully the flat cable will slip under the door nicely. Round cables keeps getting damaged at the door.
