This week only TM contractors finished laying fibre optic cables around my housing area (64 houses).

Roughly how long it will take to activate the Unifi internet connection service?

After 3 years of endless complaints at TM's online CS and store, a mail to MCMC and finally a call to local YB which they passed info up at Dato Gobind's office...
Those who are at Bandar Putra Kulai, I've got a bad news...
Agents who took our info basically just submitted another demand list to TM which they ignored; while local YB had already send a direct letter to MCM requesting TM allocate budget for fiber laying ASAP... they tried, the problem is on TM and TM alone

NO ETA on UNIFI as at Jan 2020, probably wont be avaliable untill mid year
*
Last year in March my taman residents worked together, 35 out of 64 houses signed up for the Unifi and last December TM layed fiber cables and we are waiting TM to install at our houses, most probably next week TM will install. What you do is, get area unifi manager (ask at TM Point not authorised dealer) and ask him for help. This is what I did.

Guys all my sites can't work or extremely laggy.
Epic games cannot load up.
Reddit so laggy.
Hope they solve this up asap so we can enjoy the weekend.

No wonder I can’t log into Fortnite on PS4.
Is TM blocking purposely?

I have the orange coloured router which provided by TM. If I upgrade to Asus RT-AC86U, will I able to get stable internet connection? Btw, mine is 100mbps package.

Are you referring your router looked like this?

If you are referring other than the above router, the only router supplied by tm orange in color is the old D-Link DIR 615. If by any means you are using any of these routers, I would suggest you go for AC86U instead. AC routers are quite cheap these days due to the entry of AX routers in the Malaysian market.

Answering to your questions above, yes you can get a stable internet due to a powerful processor, better wireless coverage and long-term security support from ASUS or Asus-Merlin if you want more turbo power..

Yes I meant that router. Is the 88U newer model?
If I change to Asus router, do I need to change the huawei white modem as well?

While playing online multiplayer on PlayStation 4, I was downloading a digital game on PS4 my download speed was very very slow or sometimes not downloading but online match not affected. If I don’t play online game, my download speed is back to normal and very fast.

Previously I was using streamyx 8mbps, I can play online game smoothly and can download a digital game while playing online and it didn’t affect the latency. Now I changed to Unifi 100mbps, everything upside down.

Why?

Btw, I connected via lan cable and my router is netis which was given by TM.

Just to let you know though, AC2300 has reached its EOL, so that means there won't be any firmware ugrade or update, and there will not be any support for it anymore. That is why I am no longer a fan of TP-Link, as they don't support their own products for a long period of time, unlike Asus.

I wanted to buy AC2300, suddenly decided to cancel. Then which router is best for now and future?

Asus RT-AC86U. If you have money, you can buy the Asus AX routers for futureproofing, but it is up to you.
*
Is Asus RT-AX3000 good router or 86U better?

Hi there,

Can this unit later be upgraded to support mesh? I mean by buying extra mesh node while reusing back the main router AX3000
Also can this router work with maxis home fiber?
*
Yes RT-AX3000 can use as main.
You can buy Asus RT-AX56U or other Asus mesh router for node.
Maxis can.

Well, I learnt from this forum all about these networking things.

thx for the answer...example if I buy the RT-AX3000 and then later get the new Zenwifi XT8 (AX6000) so technically it should be able to hook it up as a mesh network right...
*
I don’t know about that one.
