You should never let your door grind any cable! Either drill small hole somewhere (through ceiling is easiest) or shave off a bit of the door to make a virtual hole.

I just installed 2 unit Deco M9 Plus in my house (2 more in my parents).

What I found from my research is that no mesh system gets all the advanced routing stuff that 'proper' routers have. They're really for simplicity only. So if you want to choose your 2.4G channel or VPN, look elsewhere.

That being said, my wife is really happy with our wifi speed and coverage now, so quite worth it for me.

You can only set the ESSID and it will use for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Also can do a guest network.

One option you can consider is to get a separate router (maybe mikrotik) and only using the Deco units for wifi as mesh AP. Not sure what limitations there will be in this case (you can set your Deco DNS settings, but it looks like VPN is out of the question).

I am in Subang area (near SS12), but I'm quite happy with my RM139/300Mbps plan. However I think my FIL's house (SS14) would be happy to take the 500mbps plan. Have not asked him yet, but PM me if interested to deal.

My bill for Jan is charged correctly RM139+6%. Already been discussed previously, the new charges are exactly matched using increased discount value. Previously was being 'charged' RM179 with discount of RM70, now getting charged RM199 with discount of RM90.

And promo discount now shows 'perpetual' instead of 24 months, so no complaints taking the Pay Nothing. Well done to those who avoided it

Based on written TnC for that plan should be RM199 after contract expire. I was on that before taking the YEP which converted discount to perpetual.

Of course, TM can very well just maintain RM139, but may have to go kacau them and ask for it (threaten to jump to Maxis for example). Otherwise just downgrade to RM129 for 100Mbps lor, still save money.

At that price its likely Deco M4 or Deco E4.

A 2-pack of Deco E4 can be found on Shopee for RM289.

15x24 is RM360. Plus they lock you for 2 years. You pay them more and get locked down. Not worth it.

Of course, if they're giving 2 of the newer Deco M5 (for example) then it becomes more worth it, you're saving a few hundred. Just get the model from them and do your own comparison.

Do note as well that it's possible your 300mbps will up-price to 179 in August (since that was the T&C for this particular plan). Some (most?) of us here who had that plan grabbed the YEP end of last year which converted our discounts to perpetual. If you haven't done that then need to consider that possibility as well.

If youre already on contract then it's okay. You just get it interest free basically (since can be found for 360 around there online anyway)

Those who paid attention along the way still have good deal. Many of us took up the RM139 promo 2 years ago which is now at 300MBps, and been extended from 24-month promo to unlimited due to YEP.

This is not even taking into account those who lucky enough/smart enough/complain enough to get better deals like the RM129 for 800MBps, RM149 for 500MBps etc. All long-term customers.

Those who happily pay every month must be don't feel the pain anyway =)

Definitely, I lost my fibreoptic to that before. The TM service guy who came (few hours time) showed me the bite marks. Funny thing is it happened in daylight, because one minute I was using internet then suddenly got disconnected....

Do note that any DNS based block, any competent and intelligent teenager can bypass. Can change DNS on their own device, use Tor etc.

I got mine for RM700 for 2 units (Lazada discounted price during sales)....

11/11 last year on Shopee (sorry, mix up with Lazada) from Ookas. No voucher (well, got use free shipping voucher la), it was just the discount for single's day.
