They've brought back Singtel as their major upstream provider. It solved most of my recent issues restoring good connectivity back to Europe region. Last time when they removed Singtel,my M247 server routes went broken and many suffered by latency spikes. Just imagine a Singapore M247 server from less then 15ms ping rates when Singtel peering was removed, my latency to the same server shot up almost 200ms!
The other new peering partner they brought in is TM which is important for Maxis users to maintain good connectivity to Malaysian government websites and portals.
Basically the role of my ISP needs is just to get me connected well to SG with a requirement that it can sustain almost full speed of my subscribed speed with pings below 15ms. From there my VPS which acts as my virtual ISP will take over my connection to other parts of the world.
I'm by the way using Google Cloud SG(AS15169) as my VPS provider. You can configure your router to connect directly to it via L2TP VPN or IPSec depending on how you want to setup your VPS server.
Nothing beats Google as a global ISP, whether it's TIME, TM or Maxis. Even TNB Allo will get the job done with least needed from my pocket

Google is giving out free $300 credit for you to try their Cloud services.
https://cloud.google.com/freehttps://cloud.google.com/network-connectivi...docs/vpn/how-toAll you need is to tie in your existing CC/DC with Google Cloud for billing verification purposes and start using it.
Wouldn't Google acting as VPN increase your latency? I've tried with AWS, Google, DO and Vultr, all seems to cap their VPS network speed. I can't get a full 800Mbps speed.
