Was looking around shopee. For 800mbps unifi, & rm800-ish budget, which setup is better for whole house mesh? 3 storey house.

TP-Link Archer A9/A10 + TP-Link Deco M4/M5 (x2)

D-Link Dir882 + D-Link COVR C1202 (x2)

Any other options / better place to buy? Seeing a lot of people buying Asus from Taobao.

Hope blacktubi can guide me on this too. Would highly appreciate it thanks!

If your modem is located near stairs on ground floor, and you can place your router high near staircase, a single router router eg Asus RT-AC86U or TP-Link Deco M5 x3 is probably enough.

If not, I feel no single router or Mesh Wifi within your budget can sufficiently give 100mbps on 3rd floor.

Modem is near the stairs on the third floor, planning to put a mesh unit near the stairs on the second floor & the first floor. The most important is the third floor anyways where pc & tvs are there.

Get the three unit Deco M5, and you will be sorted.

My current router is the Asus RT-AC1300UHP. Planning to upgrade is together with buying the mesh. So 1 router with 2 mesh devices is what I’m looking at currently.

mesh wifi is the best solution for multi floor. if u want full speed, use ethernet backhaul.

Would love to do that but currently wireless is the only solution.

other solution, just maintain your router but need to put at center place for your router either on third or second floor. The wifi antenna of your router need adjust facing, 1 for straight, 1 for back, 2 for left and right. 2 ceiling AP's put at center top ceiling first and second/third floor. mesh also need put at center place of each floor, if want mesh. Addon switch if want more ports.

I feel like my router is a bit outdated, maybe higher ACs would benefit the 800mbps?

So router in front of the stairs floor 3,
mesh besides the stairs floor 2,
mesh in front of the stairs floor 1,
wouldn’t work that well?
