Brother soonwai explained it well. Btw, the switch you are referring to is a dumb switch. It is not a router. This is an example of a smart-switch. It is quite cheap for normal home usage.

The switch that you linked is exactly the same as the one I linked in my previous post. But it is an unmanaged switch, still can work to get my desired setup? So BTU to AX3000 (my room upstairs) , then from AX3000 to this switch (downstairs) and I can connect to HyppTV, smart TV and laptop downstairs?

Yes. It is capable to do the VLAN tagging. I am not sure of how their marketing department come up with such naming scheme of the product. I mislooked the model you've proposed earlier. So extremely sorry for that. biggrin.gif

2 more questions XD. If I connect my laptop or console to this switch downstairs, will it increase the latency compared to if I connect to the router directly upstairs for online gaming? I am also assuming this switch is capable of port forwarding too right?

Brother go626201 has answered it correctly. However, from my point of view, I won't be recommending to do any port-forwarding rule for security purpose.

It’s also set to reset everyday at 5AM, so I don’t think it is only designed for about 8 hours of usage right ?

Install Asus-Merlin, it may solve your problem. Stock firmware not stable.

Thanks for recommendation notworthy.gif , I just picked up the poison already, bought 3 pack from Shopee Sri computer. They gave me -RM50 voucher + 10% coin cash back. Thats almost RM100 discount from RM529 price tag for 3 pack setup. Too good to pass up the deal compared to 2 pack which is RM350-379.

A good choice. I am an ex-user of deco m4 (sold it already). The mesh unit is good. As quoted by brother blacktubi, the deco series is getting firmware updates, which is surprising from a provider like TP-LINK. I firmly believe they're in a right direction to compete with ASUS (although asus still wins due to they tend to push more frequent updates each month, if possible), hopefully. In the end, the customer would be benefited from the clashes of both providers to get a good and secure hardware with firmware support.

actually i did turn mine off when everyone go to sleep.
reason is to reduce the radioactive or whatever signal problem to human health.

am i wrong in such extend?

rather than turning off the entire router, you can set the wireless broadcaster schedule in the router. Most standard routers has this feature. Wireless scheduler, often found under parental control settings. You can set the time when the wireless signal should be unavailable and the time when the signal should be available, e.g. 12am - wifi turned off and 6am - wifi turned on.

You're right about the wireless signal or radio frequency radiation effects on human health. I always turn off the wireless access at 12am and turn the wireless access at 6am.

So confident rolleyes.gif please don't use wifi or handphone. Keep your handphone in pocket will kill your sperm, didn't you know?

There is no harmful effect on human health from the RF. In fact the content you are consuming on the device is much more harmful to you than the RF.

If you believe there is harmful effect, then why leave it on 18 hours a day?

Not sure if you're high or what? I did answer his query regarding RF radiation. It helps to improve sleep better at night. I always turn off my mobile before i sleep and place the mobile away. So not sure what is wrong here.

'effects on human health' is unscientific fear-mongering. Same like our grandparents don't pee on the tree so the spirit will not come to rasuk us in return.

If wanna sleep well, don't leave the phone on because it is distracting (and addictive). Nothing to do with RF, and definitely your router being on or off will not make a difference.

I am not sure what is the fuss about this stuff. I mean, the dude point out the question and I just answered it. The thing that does matter is the distance between you and the router. Although it doesn't cause much radiation as much as the sun, at least you can take a few steps to reduce the amount of radiation effects in your home unless you're living near compact residential areas such as condo, flats or taman which can't be avoided.
