HI, all sifu, can you please enlighten me?

currenly my double storey house is undergoing renovation.
My contractor advise me to buy the fiber optic myself so that he can conceal it from the back of my house to the living hall.

May I know which type i should buy? will TM able to connect the fiber optic cable i installed?

thank you

Since you are doing renovation, I would suggest you also get the contractor to install 1 ethernet port in every room which will be connected to your store
This way, a lot of devices can be connected through ethernet and also allows you to install multiple access points so you can have a whole house WiFi with zero deadspots

did plan to pull a ethernet cable upstair to connect to a wifi router.
Then from that upstair wifi router, pull 4 ethernet cable to 3 rooms.

or should i pull all ethernet cable from living room where my fiber optic connected?

I think you are referring Fiber Terminal box.
Im also preparing to install fiber, if everything went smoothly, this month should get fiber.
From my research this is how it connect.
FDP (pole)> FTB (ur house outdoor)> FWS (indoor near ur BTU)> BTU > Router
Based on forumer, right now TM no longer provide FTB and FWS.
Forumer suggest to get FWS only. I also wanted to find out whether to get FTB or not. if yes which one to get? found some on shopee some comes with 6ports.
Hope sifu here can help.

The FTB not really needed since we don't really have a wholesale passive fibre infra provider like in other countries.

For the FWS, in my opinion is more important to isolate and allow DIY repairs in future just in case the fibre cable is fracture inside your house and needs a patch cord replacement.

Usually the standard installation already provide the cable with a connector to be plugged directly into your modem. But my suggestion is go a little extra by asking the installer to plug it into the coupler and plug a patch cord to separate into 2 sections for easier future troubleshooting.

The coupler is to be inserted into the one of the slots in the FWS as a port.

Do check with your installer in advance which type of connector type they're using in your area before deciding to buy the correct coupler and patch cord. This is to avoid wasting your money.

I posted the parts list earlier is to serve as a benchmark or suggested retail price for most of the components for reference.

This is to avoid being cheated and overcharged by your local TM installers when quoting.

Your house is the apartment building in front? Looks like community flat.

That is a passive optical cabinet for Unifi FTTH. If VDSL2 cabinet got power supply unit next to the box.
Passive optical switching no need active power/electrical supply between OLT and customer premise's FWS.

To avoid deliver incorrect messages to the technician, do you have an example of this part? I think a picture will help.
A bit noob not sure how should I explain this to the technician.
If they don't understand, I will just show them a picture and ask them to follow that.
