I just email the state HQ to ask for explaination. Others new customer getting greater deal than a upgrade loyal customer?
I need them to help me to brain this.
If they don't let me get RM79/m with 100Mbps. I will log another report to MCMC and email again to KKMM.

Isn't 1 month free usage already have long time ago if you subscribe online?
A lot people didn't know as they subscribe with online thru agent for them to earn commission.
*
Tbh, i'm not aware from the beginning, until i saw forumer brought this out, so i asked them.
yesterday is the TM staff that came to my premise, not agent.
No need thumb print whatsoever (he said only Agent need thumb print). He only get my signature and snap a photo of my IC. and run.

Indeed it is, I got one month free for VIP5 when I subscribed thru TM's website. Thru an agent at the nearby mall, no free month.

Hi guys, I’m in the PJ area today and I noticed that my white huawei modem suddenly reseted by itself

I first noticed my internet not working, and my router said that the network cable was unplugged whereas the telephone light on the modem was blinking and the house phone wasn’t working

Why would this happen ya ? Is it a modem or Unifi issue ?

Maybe that one month free is given to agent in form of commission instead. Haha.

QUOTE(Fantasia @ May 29 2020, 02:25 PM)
hi, i just gotten a new asus router. i have read some guide to turn my old RG4332 into a network switch. to simplify, it goes like this:
BTU->Asus router->RG4332->IPTV, etc. However, i am not sure if this kind of setup would make IPTV to parasitise my bandwidth as they r supposed to their own independent bandwidth. anybody can advise me on this matter? is there anything i need to be taking note with this setup?
*
I got no idea why my post got reported. I think I better make my situation clearer.
I bought a new router, Asus RT-AX3000. I stayed in a 2-storey house and my BTU is located in my room at second floor. I have a long LAN cable connected this BTU with Innatech RG4332 downstairs in my living room. Currently, RG4332 is connected with my TV and IPTV. My intended setup is to replace RG4332 with RT-AX3000 by connecting my BTU to AX3000 and leave this new router remain at second floor while turn my old RG4332 into a network switch with the same long LAN cable connecting to AX3000. I have sketched a diagram below.
Attached Image
From my research, I found that DD-WRT cannot support RG4332 so I have no choice but to sacrifice 1 LAN port to turn it into a network switch. May I know if I connect AX3000 to RG4332 LAN1-LAN1 and remain VLAN ID of LAN 4 on RG4332 to 600, will HyppTV use its own independent bandwidth or parasitise my own bandwidth?

Why you want to trouble yourself? Just invest in a decent smart switch (usually this is recommended because who would waste other remaining ports for IPTV right?) / dumb switch (if you connect the RG4332 from LAN 4 port of your AX3000) then you're good to go.

Don’t worry about getting reported. We’ve got a lot of weird kids here. Probably someone who has no other avenue to exercise a semblance of authority.

Anyway, I asked about something similar back in 2011. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=47607014
I installed only one ethernet cable to the living room. Thought I had it all covered but didn't realised I needed another one for HyppTV so ended up using Homeplugs for a few months.

What I'm using now is exactly like your "Desired Setup."

(WiFi Router 2 (Mikrotik RB2011) & HyppTV downstairs (the Switch in the diagram is part of the RB2011)) <--------> (BTU & WiFi Router 1 (Mikrotik hAP AC2) upstairs)

What you need to do is to turn that lone ethernet cable of yours into a VLAN trunk capable of carrying both the internet and PlayTV.

The Asus probably can do it. For RM700, it better. May not be exposed in the web config but I'm sure you can configure a VLAN trunk via command line. RG4332, don't think so. So you'll need something like another router or a switch that can handle VLANs.

Not that, you'll need what is commonly known as a managed switch. But anything that can handle VLANs will do. Can be a router, can be a switch, whichever is cheaper. I use a wifi router downstairs cos I also want wifi there.

What's your IP address? Mine is 60.54.x.x. Other websites OK? Feels like your traffic is being blocked.

I just Googled managed switches. The results that i gotten are those switches that have more than 8 LAN port and costed over RM 700 rclxub.gif I think getting another router also not a feasible option as I already spent quite a lot on AX3000 sad.gif I guess I'll just replace RG4332 downstairs with new router and call it a day. Hopefully this new router have good enough reception so that I can use internet with my PC upstairs. Thank you so much for you help biggrin.gif

Brother soonwai explained it well. Btw, the switch you are referring to is a dumb switch. It is not a router. This is an example of a smart-switch. It is quite cheap for normal home usage.

The switch that you linked is exactly the same as the one I linked in my previous post. But it is an unmanaged switch, still can work to get my desired setup? So BTU to AX3000 (my room upstairs) , then from AX3000 to this switch (downstairs) and I can connect to HyppTV, smart TV and laptop downstairs?

My bad. The TL-SG105E that you originally linked to is VLAN capable. My mistake for dismissing it too quickly when I saw the "unmanaged" word. Alternatively look for used VLAN capable routers. I bought a few Mikrotik RB750GL routers from a fellow forumer for about RM50 each. The switches in Mikrotik routers are VLAN capable.
