when you buy a surge protector the most important criteria is a High rating on the surge protection .

I will not recommend this huntley . as i cannot find their surge protection ratings on the web .

Flat cable insulation not as good as rounded cable. bought a flat cable but koyak already after only a few times being grinded by the wooden door.

Rounded cable can take the door grinding like a boss.

You should never let your door grind any cable! Either drill small hole somewhere (through ceiling is easiest) or shave off a bit of the door to make a virtual hole.

Hello all,

My internet sometimes lost connection but IPTV works normal. Need to restart BTU and router. It happened almost everyday at least once. Sometimes more than once. Oneof my friend says my connection maybe always lost session but not sure true or not. Have highlighted this to TM during their customer survey calls but dunno if they take the action. I dun wan to lodge report as they sure required me to be at home but im always not availabale (tak senang)

- anyone experience this connection loss before? Restart all equiptment then all fine then happened again
- got anything to do with router? Currently use TM router. The tall black one

Current package is 500mb jumbo channel.

happened to me before. After i changed the router setting, problem solved smile.gif . What is the model of your TM router ? I'm using TM router Dlink DIR 842

Maybe it's rented house, so no drilling allowed?

It should be easier to do with flat cables, like below. Just need to properly secure the cable on floor/wall. If nails/case not an option, you can use tape / hot glue gun to stick the cable.

Due to old design of the door, drilling a hole also not suitable laugh.gif

Because of the turbo upgrade, i changed the rounded cable to flat type but it wont last lol..

Now using the rounded type with enforced taping on the grinded area. safe & sound brows.gif

while the sliced open flat cable is still capable of 100mbps, not 1gbps anymore. laugh.gif

installed on the ceiling is the best. hardly visible brows.gif

Hi friends. I have a weird problem with my Unifi TV. Whenever is is showing an HD channel, my 30mbps internet will go down to around 18mbps. I am using the Netis DL4480V modem / router from TM. The max speed I can get in my area is only 30mbps because of high rise building. What could be the problem? Is the building copper lines causing this? Or something wrong with the modem?

I see. It is the limit of the copper connection. Then there's nothing I can do about it. Have to live with it I guess. Thanks.

Any of you use mesh system, any good one's to recommend for 500mbps unifi. Looking at Google Wifi, and Nest Wifi, both doesn't have any advance options.

I just installed 2 unit Deco M9 Plus in my house (2 more in my parents).

What I found from my research is that no mesh system gets all the advanced routing stuff that 'proper' routers have. They're really for simplicity only. So if you want to choose your 2.4G channel or VPN, look elsewhere.

That being said, my wife is really happy with our wifi speed and coverage now, so quite worth it for me.

Does the Deco also auto pick for you if it's going got 5G or 2.4G? Yeah mostly i'm just getting it for the coverage and speed, just thought if there is any nice advance routing options on it, guess not.

received my 1111 asus ac86u from taobao yesterday
finish setup and OMG, its so good.
wifi @ 5ghz is getting me full speed of 300 mbps going thru 1.5 wall from living room to my bedroom.
but cant get unifi tv box to work with hypp tv, dunno if i somehow messed up my white unifi tv box. vlan is configured @ 600 already for port 4.
flashed merlin today and gonna tried it out again later at night.
whats good channel for 5ghz? i just have to test each and every channel for speed and ping test to figure out?
and how to get more channel on 5ghz? i only get unii1 and 3 channel, only 8 of them. which region allow all channel selection?

Deco M9 Plus, if you want a budget option. You can get AiMesh but that would be pricey.

Yes, you can’t set 2.4 or 5 separately.

Yours is China unit, so it will be a bit limited. Keep in mind that if there are any issues, you have to send your unit back to China as Asus Malaysia don’t support China unit.

There is no good 5Ghz channel per se, you have to test for yourself.

alright.
even china unit, since asus use one firmware for all the region, just change the region in the firmware and will get to use the channel as per region configure.
by default china region has only 4 channel for 5ghz.
and yes, warranty is claimable only at China, not malaysia or singapore. for me is not a problem.
